I thought California was the only state to do that! I had to take the written and behind-the-wheel test all over again too. I had my road test 3 weeks ago. Lucky for me, it went really smoothly! I found that watching the California DMV videos on YouTube really helped!

Hm, interesting...so were you able to keep your Canadian license then?

Anyone have to take the driver's test again? Here in Indiana, they make out-of-country drivers take the whole test (written and road)! So now I have to start from scratch by reading the manual, after which I can fall asleep...zzzzzzzz.

Anyway, I hope I get to keep my Canadian driver's license since I have to take the whole thing again.

My purpose of visiting DMV was to get the State ID (Jan. 11) and I also made an appointment (Jan. 26) for the written test to get the learner's permit. It was kinda frustrating 'coz when I got there for the State ID they said that I should have come earlier 'coz my I-94 was less than 60 days and they cannot issue an ID because it will expire on the day my I-94 expires and the issuance of ID is within 60 days. I cannot even take the written test because it's the same requirement. I will go back there once I got the EAD. Right now, making myself busy with the driver's handbook but makes me really sleepy every time I start reading it. :bonk:

Thanks for the tip about the DMV videos. I don't know how to drive :(. Right now, all I know is how to turn the key and start the car. Hubby can't teach me yet since I don't have the learner's permit so I just observe the way he drives :)

Hope you feel better Fatima!!

I am so, so sorry everyone!

I've been feeling under the weather since the snow storm we had the other day - runny nose, scratchy throat...not fun! Now hubby is sick too... :crying: good thing his leave starts tomorrow!

Thanks for updating the Spreadsheet for me, Tina! I may have to hand over the reins for a while. I probably won't be online much next week because my hubby will be on leave. We're going to try and finish up stuff around the house (just got our other bathroom painted! yay!).

I'll be back the week after next for sure! In case I can't go online before then, just know that you're all in my thoughts - I'm praying constantly for speedy approvals for all of us!!!

P.S. We finally got the Return Receipt from USPS - exactly a month after the notice date on our NOA! LOL.

I-129: 4/1/09

NOA1: 4/2/09

NOA2: 8/31/09

LEFT NVC: 9/4/09

Packet 3 SENT: 9/23/09

Packet 4: 10/12/09

Interview: 11/17/09
