Well, my daughter and I got our biometrics appointment letters today. I was going to do a walk in on Wednesday, but then I realized there's really no point since our actual appointment is scheduled for next Saturday (2/16/10) at 1 & 2pm. The notice is dated 1/28/10 so that's what the first touches must have been about!

I hope everyone else gets theirs soon too!

HAHA... it won't let me edit my post and I was looking at the wrong calendar when I said it was a Saturday. Still, there's probably very little point for me to do a walk-in when the appointment is so close!

Well the biometrics letter is finally here, and our appt. is set for 2/16 at 2 pm. The good news is that I have that day off work, so I can go with my husband. Bad news is that is his first day of his new school session, and he will probably have to miss class. We don't know yet what his class schedule will be this time, but most likely will miss part of his classes. At least he can go to morning classes and hopefully only miss half of the afternoon ones. I am so relieved to have another step almost behind us. Our letter date was 1/28, but the letter only arrived today similar to other people's experiences. Good luck to everyone!

I have a question : do I need to have a influenza vaccine on my new medical examination? I was wondering about that since its still flu season here. But the nurse on the CS office didn't mention that on my first appointment.

I think it depends on your age. Pretty sure it is something like 50 and older.

I don't think you need it unless it's flu season. Then again, I could be wrong.

The instructions to civil surgeons can be downloaded from the USCIS website. I remember reading something about it there :-)

Yes, you can have your SSN even without the working permit yet. Why would you need an EAD for the bank account? Is it a requirement in your bank? I did not file for I-765 and our bank only required for my state ID and SSN card when we opened a joint account.

EAD is not required in the bank. Its just that the social security office won't give me a SSN if I don't have the working permit yet. And the bank ask for my SSN before they will me in my husbands account. ^^

You're right! No worries! My husbands tb test showed up at 22mm.. lol! It was UGLY looking and itched a lot. He was sent for an XRay where it showed as being cleared, so it was a false positive. (A lot in the UK show false positives because of the vaccination they are given). We had to pay $50 for the test, but it was worth it in the long run. We both rather know he is okay and doesn't have TB. As far as the flu shot, it is flu season, but you will get it if you are under 18 or above 50(i think). My husband was under the "blanket waiver" thing.

Just a quick question: My appointment time is 3PM. Is it necessary to come at that time, or can I just come in earlier? Thanks!

We went in about an hour earlier and they took us. ^_^ I think it's okay to come in earlier but they will process according to the time of your appointment in case there are people ahead of you.

I'm not entirely sure but I got the flu vaccine just in case since I had my medical in September.

So it's Friday now. I am hoping to receive an e-mail from the USCIS stating that my case has been forwarded to CSC for faster processing and greencard production without an interview. If that would not happen today, it must be next week.
