We'll be leaving for my biometrics appointment in about 3 1/2 hours ^___^ I'm excited and nervous... LOL. I can't wait to get this done!

That's very exciting, Fatima. I hope it comes easy and fast to you.

Check cashed but I can't make out my file number on the back :(

Is it the same kind of reference as for a k1, starting with WAC or something ?

Don't fret about it. I didn't even monitor when the check was cashed. The last digit for my AOS is 3, for the EAD 6, and for the AP 7. I waited for the USCIS notification.

It's somewhat like K-1, but it begins with MSCxxxxxxxxxx. The number itself isn't really that reliable because if you sent in the EAD and AP along with the AOS, the last two digits can change a bit.

Any updates about the biometrics letter, Tina?

Hello Everyone just got home from the CS office. It went well but where late for the appointment coz the stupid gps didn't know where to take us. lol I'm glad the office wasn't so busy. But I'll be back on Friday for the result of my tuberculosis test and syphilis. We paid $150 for the med. exam and If my TST result is more than 5mm. Then they will do my Xray for $50. But I'm 100% it will be negative. But I need to have a 2nd dose of the MMR which they charge $65 but they allow us to get it from the Local Health Dept. which I'm sure will be cheaper. So hopefully I will get everything done with my Medical Exam on Friday at 2pm. And Maybe send it to USCIS on Monday. Most of all I thanked God for closer CS office and cheapest among the rest in my local area.

Thanks. I think it might depend on the local office appointment. I know one other person whose local office is in Indianapolis, and he got his biometric letter week of Jan. 27 when the appointment was for Feb. 3. So perhaps if my appointment is mid-February, I should receive it by Friday at the latest?? Here's to hoping!

Keep holding on, Tina.

Here's a quote from an old song:

"And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,

I hope you dance (time is a wheel in constant motion always)

I hope you dance (rolling us along)..."

Has anyone of you here already have an idea what job you will get or want to take once you can legally work? Or is there someone who is thinking of staying at home for a while without a job? Or somebody planning to start their own business online or in any other way?

I'm an accountant, so I would look for accounting jobs. Not sure how it is here in Indiana, though. Hopefully, the search won't be that bad.

Hopefully I can do the same work I did back home or at least do something related to it. Fortunately, my alma mater is "recognized" here for my degree and I don't really have to take a few more classes to be able to take to start the "licensing" process here. Unfortunately, my profession has been one of the worst hit by the recession - - but I'm very hopeful that I can find a job.

I am also open to any other design related jobs - - fashion, etc. I'm open to working in the likes of Sephora, MAC, Vicky's, etc while waiting for the long term job. At this day and age, you can't really be too picky about a job and of course a girl needs her own savings too!

OHHH!! My husband just called! Our checks have been cashed :o) Hopefully we don't get an RFE :)

I hope the same for you. That's what happened to mine... touched on the 28th and the biometrics letter showed up on February 1. :star:

It feels different when we, girls, get to hold our very own money, too. ^_^ I hope you get something from the USCIS in your mailbox one of these days.
