Snow!!! We are getting tons of white stuff in Virginia!

About the TB test... at least for the VWP (or i should say non-K1 route..hehe), the choice isn't TB skin test or Xray... it is skin test or that interferon-gamma release assays [iGRAs] thingie. You get an Xray if your skin is raised more than 5mm I believe. The xray can't be taken as a short-cut to clearing the TB "test"... I say this hoping not to offend anyone or step on any toes. Hope it helps clarify though...

Yikes! I hope it doesn't snow down in Grand Rapids tomorrow @_@ *nervous*

EDIT: just checked the weather report - there's supposed to be a few snow showers in the morning but nothing to be concerned about. *whew

Our CS did the PPD (forgot what it stands for; too lazy to Google right now, LOL) but it's otherwise known as the Tuberculin Skin Test. I think the IGRA is required now? or is the TST still valid? (I still saw it on the new I-693)

the IGRA is required if you don't get the TB Skin Test done... it's one or the other... :) I'm guessing it's just an option for CSs.

Yes, the TB test is mandatory if you take the full medical exam for AOS here (my case is concurrent i-130/i-485)If you read the instructions for civil surgeons, you will find that the xray is only required if you get a reaction over 5mm from the skin test. K1/K3's take a medical exam in their home countries, right? I don' t know how it works for you.

Well, it's very ambiguous about whether K1's have to do the TB skin test. My guess is that it's a new regulation for people who have to do the full medical here.

I was so excited when I saw an official looking envelope in the mail today sure that it was our Biometrics. nope! A summons for jury duty! So annoying! And I don't even know what to do because I don't know when our biometrics appt will be. I don't know why the letter is delayed. I checked our local office, and people seem to be getting through quickly. THere are other K1 people who filed just before us and already have their appointments set for next week. It makes me nervous that the letter got lost. I guess I will give it a couple of days before I reply to the jury summons. I always get "lucky" and get called in..never one of those your number has been dismissed things. It has been a rough day. I went to the DMV to change my name on my license and the woman would not accept my marriage certificate because she said it was a photocopy. I had another one at home and went to get it, but it was the same exact thing. They both have an embossed seal on them, so how can it be a copy? Had to go to another DMV in another city, got bad directions and spent an extra hour searching for it, finally got there right before they closed, but they let us in thank goodness. They were much nicer and got everything changed. Then on the way home discovered that the headlight on my car is out. There had BETTER be some good news tomorrow. I can't take much more of this. Thanks for listening!

Is it the same kind of reference as for a k1, starting with WAC or something ?

It's somewhat like K-1, but it begins with MSCxxxxxxxxxx. The number itself isn't really that reliable because if you sent in the EAD and AP along with the AOS, the last two digits can change a bit.
