Hello everyone!

My husband and I will certainly submit the AOS package this week. I am very excited about it and I have more confidence now than when we were starting the K1 Visa process last year.

May we all have an easy and fast AOS course.

Hakuna matata.

God bless us constantly.

So glad to hear that!!! Your check will cash soon for sure! :)

I checked our bank account after reading your post and ours just cashed today (actually it's still showing up as pending but the posted date is 01/12 - I think it should clear this afternoon)!

No NOA1s yet but hoping it'll come in the mail today ^___^

Hi there! Welcome! ^___^

The I-797C that you received is the NOA1 for your I-485.

The I-797C is the "Receipt Notice", it means that they received your AOS packet, will be cashing your check soon and start processing your case. The next one you receive will be an I-797 (no C) which is the "Approval Notice" (NOA2)

I've been looking at other people's timelines and I think you should get the biometrics letter in about 3 or 4 weeks?

Our check was cashed today but we haven't received the NOAs yet (we filed for EAD and AP with our AOS packet). The mail runs a bit slow where we live too. We sent our packet via USPS Express Mail and also paid for Return Receipt (mail confirmation that our packet was delivered) and it still hasn't come either. I'll feel so much better once we have the NOAs in hand - hopefully they'll come in the mail this week.

You're welcome!

AP stands for "Advance Parole" - the travel document that allows you to return to the United States after international travel while your AOS application is pending.

The K-1 process is generally the fastest - that's actually the main reason my husband and I opted for this route. He went to the U.S. embassy in Manila and asked about it and they said the K-1 was fastest. They gave him all the forms for the I-129F. :) We figured the next step (AOS) will probably take twice as long (or longer) but we're keeping our fingers crossed - praying everyday that it'll be a smooth process. ^___^

Hey guys i need your help in assembling my AOS package.Physician in my home country told me vaccination is not required at the time of medical since it was the K-1 but he also added they(uscis) may ask you to have it done after you arrived or when you adjust status. So in your opinion should i go ahead and have it done or just send the package without it?

I have couple of other silly questions as well, as follows.

Is Admission number the same as I-94 number?

Also on I-485 i wrote K-1 in the box where it asked Current USCIS status and in the next box it asked Expires on,is it the expiration date on my I-94 or on the VISA?

Is control number on the visa stamp is the non-immigrant visa number?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Omark! Welcome! ^___^

I believe you will need to get the vaccinations done. You can get them at the local health department (cheaper) and then just find a Civil Surgeon to transcribe the vaccinations to the I-693 form. If your overseas medical is still within a year of filing AOS, you can just have the vaccinations done and not the full medical. If you didn't have the Tuberculin Skin Test done overseas, the CS might ask you to have it done here. We only paid $15 for ours so it's advisable to have it done (unless you've had a TST done before and the test was positive - in that case, the CS will probably ask for a chest x-ray. That might cost anywhere from $80 up).

Yes, the I-94 number is the Admission Number (located on the left side on the front of the I-94)

The expiration number refers to the date the I-94 expires.

The Visa number is the one in red (bottom right corner of the visa)

The A# (Alien Registration Number) is found on the NOA2 (approval notice) - above the Beneficiary's name OR on the visa under "Annotation" under the sponsor's name. It starts with A
