I know what you mean about issues with the SSN office.. They first messed up her name (wrong first name and last/maiden name order)before we got the GC. Went back to the SSN office to get that fixed, and then they said they could not verify her immigration status (even though they had already issued a SSN!) Was told to go home and wait till she got the GC and then come back and fix the name and update as well with married name. Waited a couple of months..Got the GC , went back to the SSA office and re-applied. Was informed that we should get the SS card in 3 weeks....well, it's been 6 weeks now and still no word on the SSN.... The waiting game never seems to end... :-)

....... another issue we ran into when we went to change the name on my Social Security card to my married name. We had to go back to the USCIS office in Detroit to get it straightened out. We scheduled an INFOPASS and we were referred to the manager of their Records division who told us that for K-1s, they don't "usually" change the name on their database to the married name until after Lifting of Conditions. We thought that really didn't make sense because you're only supposed to have ONE legal name and since my green card was already in my married name, I couldn't get a driving permit because the name on my SSN card didn't match. The lady finally made a call to a senior officer and he said it was fine. They changed it on the database then after a week, the Social Security office was finally able to make the change and issue my new card.

After ringing USCIS on the 15th and told them the AOS was past the 4 month processing time (its over 6 months now) I got a touch Friday, I guess it was the letter I got yesterday which said that my case is still being adjudicated and please wait another 6 months......#######! O.o this is a joke :(

GC Update. It gets weirder and weirder. We have heard back from the Senator and she was told that my file is still at the CSC and waiting for the Bio-metrics file, and that there is no change of address on file. #######? Bio-metrics was done on 18 feb, I have received mail from them at the new address and i was told my file was at the Charlotte office 3 months ago over the phone. This is so frustrating!

Thanks for setting this up! We're about to mail the AOS packet today and fingers crossed for some action in January:)

I did see on other discussions that we should have 4 copies of the G-325? Is that correct? Thus far we only have one and I didn't see any instructions where we'd have to make extra copies.

Let me know your thoughts!!!
