Well, I'll likely be filing late December, but depending on when I get my NOA, I may end up a January filer, so yes, I'll probably see you at ROC :D

^___^ We'll probably file on the first week of January so yes, maybe :D Yay! Thank you again!

I like our group, I really do. :luv: Even other non-January filers are drawn here. We don't have a thread just for the sake of it. We haven't remained impersonal. We don't come here just to say we got approved or got transferred.

Congratulations Fatima and thanks for sharing your experience. It's nice to know that you had a nice IO for your interview and that the name change issue is not really a problem. I hope we will be interviewed by the same IO and that we will have a smooth interview as yours. I am starting to put together all the documents I will be bringing during the interview. I was able to order a photobook online for our wedding pics which turn out really nice. Did they even bother to look at your pictures?

No, the IO didn't even look at our photos or anything else we had. All he asked for was my passport (to take my I-94) and our marriage certificate - he just compared it with the photocopy that we sent then gave it back. ^__^;;

Anyway, I figured all the copies we made of our documents won't go to waste - we'll be able to use them for ROC. ^_^

Good luck on your interview!!! I really hope you have the same IO as we did! :D

Congratulation, Fatima! Itz awesome interview. Very happy for you...

Thank you so much dear! ^___^

Yeah! Congratulations Fatima!

Thank you, menina!!! I can't remember if I already said it but congratulations to you too! ^___^

Hello Everyone...Just got back from a trip and was happy to see my Advance Parole in the mail :) It was issued March 23. I am also happy to see that several of you have succesfully gone through the interview and some have received their green card already. Congratulations  I have a question though for those who had the interview...did you have to turn in the Advance Parole during the interview? We have a scheduled trip in the Philippines on May 4 and I might not be able to receive my green card before then as my interview is on April 12 yet, so I know I would be needing the Advance Parole for the travel. I am wondering if it would be possible for me to keep the Advance Parole until such time that I get my green card (which would probably be after I return from our trip).

Fatima, good luck on your interview tomorrow, and to another member from Michigan also (forgot her name), I hope both of you will have a smooth interview and won't be jerked around about the name change issue. I look forward to reading your review. It would help me in my preparation :)

Don't worry about the AP! The IO didn't even ask for my AP OR my EAD (I'm so happy to be able to keep it - haha, the one ID that I actually like - I really hope they use the biometrics photo for the green card too). In case they do ask for it, just tell them about your scheduled trip and they should let you keep it. ^_^ Also, the IO told us that it usually takes them about 2 weeks to issue and mail the green card so you should have the card before May 4 ;)

Hopefully, Vyan7 (the other Michigan filer from our group) had a smooth interview too and the name change issue wasn't a big deal.

I like our group, I really do. :luv: Even other non-January filers are drawn here. We don't have a thread just for the sake of it. We haven't remained impersonal. We don't come here just to say we got approved or got transferred.

I really like our group too! Everyone is so nice and helpful. ^___^ I really hope to be in the same ROC group as all of you.

(I've been feeling a bit guilty for neglecting our Spreadsheet but things got a bit overwhelming for me on the days leading to our interview - I'll be sure to keep updating it though!)

Thanks...did you hear from the other member who is supposed to be interviewed today also? I hope she had a smooth interview too. Oh and have a real nice celebration with your husband, you deserve it after all the hard work you have put into putting things together to make sure all is in order. Thank you also for all your effort in making the spreadsheet and constantly updating it, and for always being the first to offer help when one needs it. I am sure all January filers are so grateful that you are part of this group :thumbs::thumbs:

That's very true. This is really a nice group of people and I am glad I am part of it, although I don't get to interact as much because of other things I need to attend to at this time.

Good luck on your interview. I guess we just need to wear something nice but not too fancy, something comfortable but not too sloppy.

I will be looking forward to your post when you get your green card already because then I would have an idea when I would get mine after the interview. It would be nice to be able to have the green card with me when I travel back to the Philippines but as long as I have the AP then I guess I should be fine. I do hope Vyan7 had a smooth interview too.

Here's our interview review...we got approved!!!

We got to the office (in Lawrence, MA), about 15 minutes early. Went through security, handed in our interview notice, and went to the waiting room. It was about half an hour until we got called in. The IO was really nice, started by asking for my birth certificate, EAD card, passport, license and social security card, and my husband's license. When she noticed I was from Quebec we all started talking about hockey :) ...she grew up nearby in Vermont.

Then all that she did was confirm everything on my I-485 application, asked the big list of questions, and approved everything!!! She didn't ask us ANY questions about how we met, etc... and didn't want to see ANY of the evidence we brought!!! She kept my EAD card, and said I should recieve my GC within a week!

Oh - and we both wore pretty casual clothes, me brown pants and a blue shirt, husband jeans and a polo.

Good luck to everyone with interviews coming up!!!!!
