OK...so another interview question. I was getting everything together for our interview, and I can't find my husband's (he's the American citizen) birth certificate ANYWHERE. All I have is a photocopy of it. What do I do?!?! We can't get one by Thursday. HELP!!!!!!

My USC husband was born in India and he doesn't have a birth certificate. He only has his actual passport and an unclear photocopy of his certificate of citizenship :lol:. I don't feel anything about that part. We will just bring what we have tomorrow.

My EAD card came in the mail today!!! :D My picture (from biometrics) actually turned out really great - haha, what a surprise! My ID pictures never turn out good XD

So...I need to hear from someone who has had their interview. How long did it take? What did they ask? How many photos/supporting documents did you take? How many do they expect??? Any info would be helpful :) My interview is on Thursday and I'm starting to freak out.

Again, if you read my interview experience in this thread, you will notice that I didn't have to show any proof of the birth certificate as I had already sent off a certified one with the application.

Okay, so my AOS has been touched every (work) day for the past 4 days. Which is great, BUT... I didn't come on a K1, and I haven't been transferred to CSC so I wonder what the deal is.

And in the meantime, I'm still waiting for my EAD and AP while I watch people that filed AFTER me get approved.

03/18/10 - AP Approved (for my daughter - not me)!! (Day 52)

I have a question for you. What is your J1 visa saying? Are you subject to 2 years home residency requirement?That is what they might want to know.

I had a J1 before and I had to get a waiver because I had the 2 year thing on my passport. I don't mean to scare you it is just one possible explanation. I hope for your sake that you don't have that 2 year requirement or if you have it that you got a waiver... Good luck!
