There's a note at the bottom of the interview notice that says:

YOU MUST APPEAR FOR THIS INTERVIEW-
If an emergency, such as your own illness or a close relative's hospitalization, prevents you from appearing, call the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 as soon as possible. Please be advised that rescheduling will delay processing of application/petition, and may require some steps to be repeated. It may also affect your eligibility for other immigration benefits while this application is pending.

I think that UNLESS you are rescheduling because of an emergency, you should cancel all other plans and appear for the interview appointment already scheduled for you.

My green card just arrived with the mail!

Also they should receive our response to the RFE (birth certificate) for my sons application today. Really hope they will approve him fast now.

Yay!!! Congratulations! I hope your son gets his green card soon too!

Received approval notice for my EAD and AP today!!!

I wonder how soon I will get the card itself from this email!

*Note: I'll be sure to update the Spreadsheet tomorrow - a bit busy at the moment

Ok, I'm ALMOST done getting all our documents together for our interview. I've already made copies of everything but I'm still organizing the originals, just in case we get asked for them.

And the good news is, I called the USCIS Military Helpline and talked to someone who actually knew about the K-1 visa and the medical requirement prior to visa issuance (so no need to get another medical because we filed our AOS within 1 year of the overseas one)! I told her about receiving the interview notice and the checklist indicating that we must bring a "completed medical examination (Form I-693) and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope (unless already submitted)". She told me that since we already submitted the I-693 with the AOS packet, I didn't need to bring another one to the interview. Now I just decided to get a copy of the original I-693 that we submitted from the Civil Surgeon because they didn't give us a copy. It turns out that it's the clinic's policy not to give a copy of the I-693 to the patient but I talked with a really helpful lady who actually listened when I told her that it's stated on the USCIS website at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=eb1f3591ec04d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD that: "The civil surgeon must also give you a copy of the completed and signed Form I-693 and any supporting documentation submitted to USCIS to you for your records." She agreed to mail us another copy (I originally asked her to fax it to us but she said she couldn't do that without written consent but she would mail it to the address she had on my file).

So we get to save $100+ on another medical and we get a copy of our original I-693 at no cost! :D

I will go to Buffalo tomorrow for an infopass appointment to know more about my situation since this is the last cruiseship of family because kids are moving out going to college next year. I talked to hubby but still wanted me to go to Buffalo to confirm to Immigration and goodness I have to work for 8hrs. tonight (night shift) and will leave immediately after work for a 3hrs. drive to Buffalo, NY. The thing is I already told him before not to set up anything if I dont have my schedule yet but of course Im always second priority aside from his kids. I wont wonder why. I stated on my application alonf with my AP that we have a family cruiseship on that specific date. Hubby wont believe me but wanted me to go for long hours drive as he is not around been on a business trip.

You have posted a lot of conflicting things regarding your situation/relationship. You have stated that you have been abused by your husband, but yet you are going on a cruise with him and his children... Regardless, a cruise is NOT an emergency situation although you could always try... Even if you didn't go on the cruise, your husband would still be required to attend the interview with you.

Yes I been abused no doubts to the point where I told him I will report him to authorities for abuses and after that incident we don't fight at all when he was here for 2 weeks with me . He change a little bit and treating me ok unlike the last few months like a hell for me. This will be my last try of the relationship. I wish hubby is more understanding than you do I stated and even forward him the note of USCIS still insisted . I have no choice but to go try for an appointment eventhough I know it is not possible .. Cruiseship is always there and my interview is one -time.
