You can call 1.800.375.5283, make sure you have your receipt number. To be honest I didn't find them very useful as they don't ahve much information even if the call is escalated.

Green Card received in the mail woohoo

It's been a week since we received our Welcome letter but still no GC...

If it may provide you some comfort, I received my conditional GC in the mail 3 weeks and 2 days after the Welcome NOA arrived. Be patient. Like they say, it takes 2-3 weeks. And, by the way, congrats on the approval.

Hello my friends.

Cory just found tonight that she will need to registrate our marriage with the romanian consulate in USA. The fee for this process is about $194 if done within 6 months after the marriage and $294 if done after the 6 months period. There are some problems that makes this process a bit on the impossible side. First, we don't know which one has jurisdiction over Puerto Rico. Second, regardless of which one does, we would need to get on a plane to get there which makes the process more expensive.

So the question is...........is this process really necessary? Is this requirement the same for every country? Can this be done directly in Romania? Can this be done online? What could happen if we don't do this?

So as you can see, this is not so easy to swallow specially after the long K-1 and AOS process not counting the costs of establishing ourselves after the marriage.

Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated.

To the people who also have no GC yet. I think there is a group of us, I called my Senators office again because I was told "If you don't hear by July, call me" Well its nearly that time and I need my green card to drive (DMV people are being fussy with my passport and other documents...Typical). So I called up today and should hear back by 9am Monday from the lady who helps me out, I am kinda hoping they may stumble upon your paperwork too and get it all done. If you don't see any touches by Tuesday call your senator.

I need to be driving to college by August and this delayed process is not helping in the slightest. 4 months wait supposedly. I submitted my documents in January, got refereed in early March... So it should be here by now. I will probably loose it if the senator office lady gives me any trouble, I called her like 2 months ago telling her I should be seeing some progress, she told me to wait to July. I knew I was right, its sat on someones desk not doing anything.
