Got NOA2 today!!! YAY!

Now we're waiting for packet 3... does anyone know how we can track where packet 3 is? how it's sent? or what address they send it to? Our current address in Beijing is pretty unreliable with getting mail (our landlord didn't give us a key to our mailbox!!) and so we're concerned about how we will get the package... I've heard some people receive it at the US address of the petition filer (which would be fine, my mom would receive the package and forward to our work's address here in Beijing). Alternatively, we could change our address to our work's address here in Beijing, but I've heard that could cause problems because it's not a residential address with our names... HELP!!

We were real concerned about this too, but then we received our packet 3 via email! I would make sure your emails and numbers are all current. You can also contact your local embassy with your case number and check where the process is.

Steph and Kang I can empathize with you. Mail service in Georgia is non-existent. Fortunately, the US Embassy is aware of this. They called my fiance to verify his email and sent it all in one go electronically.

The other thing that is worth mentioning is that his letter was written by someone who is not a native English speaker so it was a bit confusing as to what they wanted and how (electronic or by hand and how many copies of each). My fiance called to clarify and was told to fill out DS-160 - WRONG!!!!!. I hit the roof. When I found the floor again, I called the embassy and spoke to someone who knew the dealio and was told he was given bad information and to fill out some of the forms via PDF (typed) and the others by hand. FYI Georgian has its own alphabet which is not supported by Adobe PDF mad.gif, which I suspect is the reason for the 'by hand' requirement. Anyway, good luck!

Still no news on the RFE, but I contacted my local congressman and they have their immigration specialist on the case so.. good news may be soon enough. It sucks that we keep seeing people on VJ's Timeline/Igor's List who applied after us, got RFEs after us, and have been approved way before us.. why is the person who's handling my case sleeping on the job? :(

We were approved! I just got a phone call from my happy fiance.

The best advice I can offer is to practice the interview with your fiance(e). We went through all of the I-129F info that was submitted, looked for possible areas where they might question and made sure all of his answers were consistent with the I-129F application. They asked him some specifics about my late husband, what happened, what disease did he have, etc.

Now we are just waiting for DHL to deliver the visa!!!!

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem-

The NVC states the sent our paperwork to the US Embassy in Cape Verde on May 14th. According to DHL, the package was signed for at the Embassy on May 20th. It is nor the 25 and my fiance hasn't recieved anything so I emailed teh embassy. I just recieved a reply saying that my case is still with the NVC!!!! I replied back that I spoke with NVC and even added that the package was signed for by "Angela".

Has anyone's paperwork actually gotten lost at the embassy?
