Got NOA-1 Today!!! Case number, set up email alert.... now we wait....

So what's the NOA-1? Does that means the petition has been approved? My fiances attorney is getting all they paper work together and we will be sending it by the end of this month and im just lost with the whole process.

NOA1 is when the USCIS have given you an alien number / case number and send you a hard copy that they have recieved your file and that they will start processing it.

NOA2 is when you either have been denied or approved, it usually comes a few months after NOA1

Received my NOA1 today! (1/21/10) Was a bit longer than most wait times that I've seen around here but am glad to have it.

Gosh, we still haven't got our NOA1! It's been 11 days, almost 12 now! From what I've seen on the timelines but by VJ the average is from 7-10 days. And almost everyone's timeline in this forum is in just a few days. I'm started to get worried.. He send it was delivered, I just wonder if he forgot anything or not..

VSC received our I-129f on friday jan 22nd, 2010. i saw in some of your timelines that you received an NOA1 email and then an NOA1 hardcopy. Does everybody receive an email because we have not received one yet? Also, how long does it usually take them to cash the check? I know it is only wedensday, but i noticed that some people had their check cashed a day or two after their packets were received. I appreciate your replies :-)

boo22: that's exactly what i want to know too! I have waited for mine for 12 days now, it arrived at VSC on jan 16th and we havent recieved anything yet. I heard from other it can take up to 20 days and that it might take serveral weeks, same for them to cash your check.

Sending ours today ... AGAIN ...it has already been there and back again ...apparently one of our forms needed to be an original instead of a copy ... I really don't see why ... anywho its on its way now ... hopefully

Hm.. sorry it took so long for you. Maybe I'm in the same situation, I really hope it'll come soon.. Good thing is that I heard that you are still the queue even if your NOA1 is late..

Package sent on Jan 12th. Check cashed Jan 15th, but no NOA1 yet. I guess they're just a little behind in mailing those out?
