I could see a 10 year age gap working - lets say the guy is 27 and the woman is 37 but the they are compatible, of same education level give or take and if the guy has had experienced. For the life of me I cannot understand how a male virgin who has never kissed anyone else before can marry a woman has been with one or many men and pushed out a bunch of kids. I just see no way that could be a real relationship. Anything is possible, but I dont think that the majority would be genuine. Especially if she can no longer have kids, then isnt the dynamic in some circumstances that the husband would become another one of the kids? If the cultural norm is for the man to wear the pants in the family yet the wife has had the most experience, how does that work?

Age is a factor but I think even more so is that the two need to be in the same "phase of life".

MArriages live or die on, a) Things in common B) COmmitment to the marriage (not so much to each other).

How are old are you, Danno?

Me: Pali-American, 21 years older, married 30 years the first time, empty-nester w/5 adult kids, PhD, Ivy league, great career, world traveler. Hubby: single Moroccan, partially employed, no kids, never left home, tech school, sharp intellect. Happily married for 5 years, he has a 10 gc and a job. Life is good. We have everything you say we shouldn't have but it works and works very well, so, yes, anything is possible.

You and I are apparently freaks of nature sis. You know, the gross and abnormal generation. But to be honest I do think that the majority of these kinds of marriage are fraud.

Also found out that young girls like it when you lick the bowl.

Did you really go there? :dead:

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Gross and abnormal is a great lifestyle! I'd be less than honest if I didn't admit that I blink when reading about others in the same situation, but, I'm in no position to judge.

The only thing that bothers me about my husband being 8 years older than me is his love of 80's hair bands. :dead: I, unlike others, DO let him put it on the radio, it's only fair...

Otherwise, we're fine.

My wife keeps wanting to tune into the local pop station that plays something called "Lady Gaga", whatever that is.

I am the dominant one in our relationship however and keep the radio presets set to WDRV (70s/80s classic rock) and WBEZ (local NPR affiliate). Screw Lady Gaga.

Here, a gift for you:

:P

I don't like people older or younger than myself (romantically). My husband and I have the biggest age difference that i have ever had before-- and he is a year and 8 months older than I am. He is like me, liking people his own basic age. It doesn't mean I couldn't find someone else attractive outside the 2-3 year age range, but I just feel much more comfortable in my own group. To each their own, right?

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
