I mailed my sons AOS today, sent it priority overnight express or whatever its called, it was $14.40...the guy who was serving me was awful chatty, talked a bit about the immigration process etc whil ehe was making out my money order and stuff....at the end he asked me if i knew how to track the pkg online...i was like ya sure...he goes..."well you go check the website, this is a guarunteed by noon delivery, if it is there any later than noon, even 12:02, you bring this slip back in and you will get your money back".

a money back guaruntee!!! who knew!!!

im actually hoping for 12:02 LOL

just a bit of an update....my package was delivered at 1:47 pm. So I was doing errrands today, popped in to the post office, and lo-and-behold I walked outta there with $14.40 refund! wo0o0ho0o0 finally got some $$ back from the govt :)

Watch your taxes at the end of the year and everything else.. maybe they will secretly nickel and dime you till they get it all back :P Kidding..

On the tax form "Did you mail any documents to USCIS?" THere is a $14.41 charge.." haha .. ok I am bored.

Well speaking of mail ..........

My husband needed to overnight me some papers. SO!! , he goes into his Canada Post office says he wants to overnight said package........... They told him he'd have to pay the fee (whatever it was , I dont recall) PLUS THE DRIVERS GAS!!! He said " geez Im not asking anyone to hand deliver it in person for cryin outloud" Needless to say he opted for priority 2 day which of course took 5 days **sigh**

They are good for refunds but not for delivering on-time. If you really need something to get there fast go with Fed-ex or UPS.

Last year I sent some visa paperwork to Paul in England and I wanted to get it there quick so he could send his packet in to the embassy ASAP. I decided to send it priority through FED-EX. Well they tried to deliver it and no one was home so they decided they didn't need to leave a message and just let it sit over in some office somewhere. Apparently you need to use ESP to know you have a package waiting. :wacko: The only reason I knew they tried to deliver it was because it said so on the tracking status online. So after 3 days - they never tried to deliver it again or call me or Paul because they had both phone numbers- I called and complained that I specifically used them to get those papers there quick because it was important and at the rate they were going it would have been quicker (and cheaper) to use the post. Anyhoo, they finally delivered it the next day a few days later I had a refund in my bank account (I had used my debit card). I use the post office now, they've never let me down - yet. ha ha!

In the post office's defense: When we filed AOS, we sent it regular mail (not overnight or priority) but certified/return receipt requested. I mailed it at 2:15 pm and it was delivered at 10:30 the next morning. (Of course, that was back when AOS applications went to your local office, not to Chicago, but my "local" office was still quite a distance away.)

I have gotton refunds on packages - I have overnighted.

now I dont get that ####### about things no more.
