Hey everyone, my husband and I have our interview on Jan 14th but I'd like to share the list of what we've compiled and placed in an organizer. If you don't mind, please look it over and share your suggestions of anything else we could possibly add (especially for the bona fide section, I'm hoping we have enough). If it helps, I am the USC and my husband is the beneficiary.

Here are the subsections of our folder:

Identifications documents including:

  • Each of our passports
  • my husband's form DS-2019 for his J1 visa
  • copy of my husband's entire passport (with his I-94 paper)
  • Each of our birth certificates
  • copy of my hubby's EAD & SS card
  • My social security card

AOS forms including:

  • Copies of all forms we sent in; 130,485, 131, 765, 864 and his medical exam
  • all the forms USCIS sent us (NOAs, interview letter, bio letter)
  • His AP & EAD documents

Work/Income:

  • My husband's...1040, tax transcripts, W2, letter of employment, and pay stubs for the past 6 months
  • My (I am the petitioner but we included my husband's income on the 864 as well)...1040, W2s, letter of employment, pay stubs since I started my job in July

Evidence of bona fide marriage:

  • marriage certificate
  • Joint lease
  • joint health insurance (we printed the page on our insurance's website that has me listed as the co-insured on my husband's policy)
  • Car insurance with both of us insured with Geico
  • statements from a car loan we have out in both our names
  • statements from joint american express credit cards
  • Joint bank account statements (savings & checkings)
  • wedding registry
  • wedding photos
  • receipt from our wedding rings from Kay's
  • old letters we wrote back and forth to each other while we were dating (the envelopes are stamped with the dates)

Honeymoon:

  • Ticket stubs from our trip
  • receipts from places we went to
  • photos

Anything else you can think of? We have originals and copies of EVERYTHING in our folders  Thanks for reading & for feedback! :star:

You have a lot more bona fide evidence than we had, and we had no problems at all. I doubt you will either. Your list is fine. :)

They will be watching how the 2 of you interact at the interview-I know how hard it is, but just try to be natural and calm. Good luck!

You guys are going to be fine! :star::star: You have enough evidence to prove that your marriage is legit. Your interview check list looks perfect and posting it on VJ would help other future applicants. And despite the evidence, most of the times you can tell at your first sight if a couple is legit or not.

I can't wait to hear the good news from you, there is no doubt about it! :star:

You have a lot more bona fide evidence than us too, and we were fine. The only other things I can think of are affidavits from friends about your relationship or wills, but to me it looks like you have plenty of evidence. I agree with trillium that they look at how you interact too. I'm sure interviewers develop a sense for when a couple is real and when they are putting on an act, so will be able to tell that you are the real thing :)

Removing conditions:

10/9/10 - Package sent to Vermont

10/13/10 - NOA1 date, received 10/18

Thanks very much everyone for the feedback! Those who have been through the interview I'm sure understand how we are feeling. It will be nice when it's over with! I will be sure to write up how it goes afterwards and submit a review on VJ :)

Hi there, we prepared a virtually identical list of documents as you guys and in the end I think the IO pretty much made up his mind even before he talked to us since the first part of the interview consisted of him explaining what conditional residency was. In the end, he only asked for two additional documents showing co-mingling of assets!

So best of luck!

Hi RebeccaandPhil,

I just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your interview. This thread has been really helpful and will be when we get to our interview. I can't suggest any other addition to your list other than what was suggested, but I think you are going in well prepared and am sure you will be approved (and I know it's different hearing that from a non-IO..haha!). I hope you get a great IO and your interview goes smoothly! Just a little over a week now!
