So I know this is for US immigration, but I was here in the past trying to do that, and then switched to Canada immigration; anywho, Got the approval letter today, Passport requested, all done!! In just 3 months. Pretty coolio!!

Take care everyone, good luck on all your immigrations, we will be doing DCF next year, so I'll prolly be snooping around here then.

Started our visa journey Jan 06.

01-06 - I-130, K3 shortly after

04-06 - switched to Canada Immigration

07-06 - Moved to Canada (PR almost complete)

07-06 - Changed again, back to US imm.

09-06 - Landed as Canadian PR

10-06 - DCF Toronto, Approved in 1.5 hrs!

11-06 - Interview Montreal (success!)

I-130

10-05-06 DCF in Toronto - Approved

10-19-06 Packet 3 received & sent back

10-20-06 Montreal receives P3

11-03-06 Packet 4 received

11-06-06 Medical

11-22-06 Interview / Visa approved

11-26-06 heading home, 6 day drive, my oh my

10.24.08 - Mailed I-751 to CSC

12.06.08 Biometrics Appt.

12.19.08 Received new Drivers License extended to 2011

3/13/07 - AOS package rec'd at Chicago Lockbox

3/20/07 - Rec'd Social Security Card

3/21/07 - Checks Cashed and Case Status online

3/24/07 - NOA1 Rec'd for AOS and EAD

3/27/07 - rec'd Biometrics appt letter - scheduled for 4/20/07 @ 11:00am

4/02/07 - "touched"

4/20/07 - had biometrics appt.

4/21/07 - rec'd letter stating case was transferred to CSC

5/22/07 - rec'd Case Pending at CSC email

6/25/07 - EAD card production ordered

congrats! wow....3 months? Is that just abnormally fast or how Canada normally works with spousal PR?

I-129F sent: August 18th, 2006

NOA2: October 2nd, 2006

Packet 3 returned to Mtl: October 26th, 2006.

Medical: January 10th, 2007

Interview: January 23rd, 2007, at 2:30. APPROVED

Entry to the US: Feb 28th, 2007 POE Ivy Lea

Married: March 2nd, 2007

AOS/EAD sent May 4th, 2007

NOA1s for all 3 AOS and my EAD May 14th, dated for May 10th

EAD touched May 28th,29th, 2007, Youngest daughter's AOS touched May 29th, 2007

Biometrics: May 30th, 2007

All cases touched May 31, 2007, June 5th, 2007, August 1st, 2007

All 3 AOS transferred to California July 5th, 2007

EAD Approved July 27th, 2007

Finally movement on my AOS, touched on Feb 22 & 24th

GC May 11 2008, date of april 29th on them.

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

Hey, congratulations, I remember you as well. Seems you were being ignored the same time we were. We are still not through the process. Guess we should have tried Canada. hua hua. Good luck as I remember your husband took a career change job in Canada. The best of luck to you in your new home.

Wow, congrats! It took us eight months to do the Canadian route back in 2000/2001... guess they've sped up the process! Enjoy your year here... I've definitely loved my last five. :)

April 24, 2000 - Met in an online chat room

May 26, 2000 - Met in person

July 12, 2000 - Engaged

March 2001 - My permanent resident status is approved in Canada

April 28, 2001 - Married in my hometown, South Bend, IN

May 2, 2001 - Crossed Canadian border and finalized my landed immigrant status

February 2006 - The process of bringing my Canadian family to the States begins, so that my two beautiful children can learn about their whole heritage.

March 21, 2006 - Received approval letter and Packet 3

April 17, 2006 - Sent Packet 3 back to Montreal

April 20, 2006 - Packet 3 received by Montreal

July 6, 2006 - Received Packet 4

I have read they are very quick on the U.S./Canada apps, and ours was transferred to Los Angeles to expedite it. I have been seeing many going thru in 3 months, even a few in 2 months! I am already here in canada as a visitor, I packed up and put all my stuff in storage.

My latest quandry now is whether I have to get my passport changed to my married name before I send it in to get the visa stamp. I really really want to just send it and deal later, trying to find out if that will cause any problems. I just really want to get the landing done so I can get my things back!! I only brought over one suitcase full of clothes HA HA

Congratulations! That was quick. Maybe my fiance and I should get married and go that route instead. I should looks into fiance visas to Canada - if there is such a thing. Anyone know?
