I received a mail today for an interview for my K4 son. Although I was thankful, I am kind of surprise and nervous at the same time because it is too fast  Plus I never thought they send interview notice before the actual Biometric  Is this normal?

Here's the timeline:

11/20/2009 - Sent I-130, I-485 and I-131 Application (Reapply) to Chicago Lockbox

11/23/2009 - Delivered at 6:12 AM on November 23, 2009 in CHICAGO, IL 60680

11/27/2009 - NOA1 date for I-130, I-485 and I-131

11/30/2009 - Received NOA1 for I-130, I-485 and I-131 in the mail

12/01/2009 - I-130, I-485 and I-131: Touched

12/21/2009 - Received Biometric Appointment for I-485 in the mail. It will be on January 7, 2010

01/02/2010 - Received Notice in the mail for Interview on February 2, 2010.

---

Another question: My son is only 4 years old, so I am guessing they are going to interview me and my husband, right :devil: If there's anyone out there who experience an interview with a minor, please share your experience.

---

Thanks :star:

Edit to add: I have a 10 year green card but my passport is expired, do I need a new one for my son's interview?

Rin's children had their K4 AOS interviews about a year ago. They were asked if they liked living in the USA and if Rin was their mother. All the rest was checking paperwork (and asking Rin and me questions since it was also her AOS interview).

I would think it is so quick since your K3 AOS has already been approved (they only have to reconfirm your son's identity relationship, and presence in the USA).

Best of luck,

John

We did not have interviews for our K-2 children. Strange. Could be an error but I would go to the interview anyway. Not sure what they expect in interviewing a 4 year old. Your passport situation should make no difference. You have a green card, you do not need a passport except for international travel

rin and john - thanks for sharing your experience. Well I hope they just ask me and my husband most of the question because if they ask my 4 year old son, he's going to talk a lot and most of it is about his favorite video game or tv show :bonk::wacko:

Gary and Alla - I don't mind going to the interview at all. I think it was strange too but I just think it will be a circus if my son will be in the interview room  About the passport, thanks for that. I was just making sure if I really need it. I was planning to renew mine but the interview notice was too fast

Thanks (L):star:
