I see red ppl.....

Back for the land of the dead.

Busy night, I'm beat.

Commies if you're going out to eat and you can afford to spend $60 on Crown Royal and tip your waiter $5 (esp. when he hooks your drinks up) Don't go out to eat... ppl in SC are so cheap.

I think people would tip their servers more if they actually knew everything they do and all the BS they put up with. What azzhats!

My mom is insane. She should asked me if I wanted to go to the gym with her. I was like "on what planet would you allow one of your patients to go to the gym 2 weeks after surgery?" she said "good point" and laughed

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Chris,

I agree, the tip should have been at least $12.00

I always give 20% (or more if drunk), unless the service is #######, then it is 10-15%. I never stiff service people in a decent establishment.

I cannot wait to get back into school and just get my RN and get the hell out of food service forever.

Yeah, I'm sure the gym is contraindicated for a few more weeks for you.

Are you keeping your legs elevated when you rest Amby?

I hate my job but when I'm at work you'd never know it. My job is to make sure everything is how the customer wants and that they never have to ask for refills, bread,...etc. I'm a pretty polite and easy going person. It's just a difference in location I've served tables in NYC and NY and ppl tip pretty well for the most part. Here around Charleston ppl are just cheap, I have talked to servers from other restaurants and it's pretty much the same consensus.

I always go out expecting to tip 20%. You really have to go out of your way to make me tip less then that.

Good to hear from you William. Hope your New Year is going well so far. :)

Well, from my experience years ago in restaurants/hotels (back of the house mostly), I learned one good rule of thumb: " You can't please every azzhole". It's unfortunate that people don't realize the extraordinary effort required in table service. You need many skills to be successful in that endeavor. To that end, I was miserable at it, thus I remained behind closed doors.....

All the best for 2010 and beyond Chris.

when I lived in England I had this heater in my bedroom. I f'ing hated that thing because it wasn't central heat, but right now I'm in my central heated home and freezing my butt off. I really miss that damn heater right now! It warmed the room up so fast.

Chris, I always tip 15% or more. The better the service, the better the tip. Unfortunately, here in Canada the tipping guideline is 10-15% versus the 15-20% it is in the US. I have only not given a tip once and that was just awful service - and yet, I still felt bad!
