Now they have snow days? Back when I was in school, it was unheard of. We had school even if there was 2 feet of snow. And there were no busses . We had to walk no matter how far ya lived. Few kids had their parents drop them off, but that was considered 'uncool' .

Times have really changed.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

I think the server is messed up again. Couldn't get pages to load for about 20 minutes.

Seems to be working good now.

Tell me about it. I think a lot has to do with having tons of things on my mind all at once. This not sleeping is really bothering me. When I do sleep, I wake up just about every hour .

Sorry to hear I am haunting your dreams - we're must both be on VJ way too much if that is the case  !

Regarding the sleep issue, I had similar problems when I was going through menopause. What I found helped was a variety of specific supplements. A lot of times magnesium deficiency can cause restless sleep - the type where you wake up every hour - so see about taking extra magnesium (extra calcium won't hurt either - they often come together) - and then supplement vitamin D as they require that to be properly metabolized. I also took 5HTP and GABA, both of which improve the body's ability to produce seritonin. GABA, which is an amino acid, (I believe), is also affective for improving nerve pathway communications and allows restless nerves to relax (it is actually used to help treat restless leg syndrome). So, I took all of those every night and if I still had problems getting to/staying asleep (very occasionally), I added valerian and that took the 'edge' off of the restlessness. All of these are safe supplements - especially the magnesium so this is something you could try. I hope it helps - and I will try not to 'moderate' in your dreams anymore  .

Morning commies :star: & hi Kathryn!

Mal ~ I got the pizza 1/2 plain (kids) and 1/2 meatball. Good luck on that long trip of yours! It sucks that you don't have any stops in NYC or I'd swing by and say hi and buy you some real pizza & bagels to take with you to FL.

Nagi ~ feel better :( I understand the sleep thing, I've been waking up like every 2-3 hours and not being able to go back to sleep. Last night I woke up with a charliehorse in my leg and was freaking out. Now I'm limping on that leg.

It's supposed to snow tonight (UGH!)

I have to wake my kids up, they've been sleeping late for some reason lately. Usually they're already waking me up climbing all over me.

LOL@Kathryn!

Thanks for the tips! I am going to try liquid vit B sublingual....I have plenty of that on hand. As for men-o-pause...Im over that. I never thought of magnesium. Will have to get some and see if that doesn't help. I know for a fact my seritonin is messed up, at least that's what the shrink says.

Yeah, b6 should help as well:-). I do hope you feel better soon.

Susita - potassium deficiency can cause charliehorses at night. Add a banana to your diet and see if that helps - they are loaded with potassium.

Kathryn ~ I eat bananas (especially plantains - in this house you can't go without them, fried boiled mashed you name it) but lately I have been cramping everywhere it's insane. The other day I got a butt cramp. I have never had one of these in my life. I couldn't walk  I think it's the pregnancy. Oh what the heck I'll eat a banana anyway!! :)

Hi Nagi! :)

I have to get these little munchkins to school

I used to wake up every hour when I was pregnant. It was so funny, my friend said, "well, now that the baby is born you won't get any sleep." I said, are you kidding? Now, I'll get to sleep at least for 3 hours at a time. That will feel heavenly.:thumbs:

Susita - I used to take a potassium supplement each day while pregnant because of terrible leg cramps and I don't eat bananas. Well, I told this to my Ob. nurse and she said, "Oh, sister - the amount of potassium you need no banana will give that to you. You need a supplement."

nanners are good, when I work the NYC marathon events we keep them around for the runners if they start to cramp. Your nerve tissue works with salt and potassium, if you are deficient, sometimes cramping occurs, bananas are a quick way to deliver a dose of K to the body.
