Am loving these pictures my friends/family are sharing from New Orleans yesterday. Apparently most of them took today off

And I guess one of the news stations got a very drunk Bobby Hebert sharing his happiness. I'm also realizing now that more attention will be paid to the Saints and the Louisiana area in general (for something good for a change) how the *ahem* culture there will be scrutinized.

yup

As I thought....He is a freak for sure...anything for ratings I think. Given the odd items he consumes, including what you mentioned above, I was surprised he would not eat Durian. It is quite good actually....The smell offends some, but if you taste Durian, it is actually quite excellent.

didn't he try to eat it? I thought he spit it out

He did....Which characterizes his lack of culinary skills in my judgement. He should have eaten at least a bite, to exercise the "I have tried that item" statement. For cripes sake, he has eaten some really weird shite and swallowed it....

I am thinking about trying durian, this past weekend I saw some at the frozen section of the Asian store. I was very tempted to get some, but held myself back, hopefully next time I go, I will buy some :)

You really should try it. I would characterize the flavor as "fermented ripe banana". My wife prepares a "sambal" (a spicy condiment made from raw chili, small red onion, garlic, salt), that sometimes includes durian....Really good....and an excellent side for charcoal grilled red snapper....
