nooooooooooooooo....reading the class discussion boards. someone used "weather" instead of "whether"

Anyone care to hear the whether forecast. :P

Sh*t, pressure change, now I'm doing the corkscrew into the ground routine. :crying:

Thanks Amby! :) That will be tomorrow's project!

The chocolate chip muffins are in the oven. I used to bake muffins all the time so the boys could eat them for breakfast or snacks but have gotten lazy with that lately. Their favorite is chocolate chip but they also like corn, oatmeal raisin, blueberry & coffee cake :) (that's my fav!)

I make them from scratch, no boxed mix. It's so easy and much cheaper that way. Plus I think it tastes better than Betty Crocker

Nagi ~ Donuts are my fav. I haven't mastered the art of making donuts, except for sugar donuts... those are easy. What I want to learn how to make is chocolate glazed mmmm

spelling errors like that make me cringe

I go crazy when I see that manner of nonsense.

My granny used to make donuts. She called them Johnny Cakes. She's been dead for many years. Had she lived, she would be over 120 years old now. They were the best I ever ate. My sister had her recipe, but for some reason they just are not the same.

I think most heirloom recipes are just a starting point for the cook to improvise. I thought Johnny cakes were some kind of flatbread that's deep-fried, if I recall correctly. I suppose that's not too far removed from a donut.

That's what she called 'em. All I know is that she used to make bags of them and freeze them. When we went to visit, he would have them all thawed out and ready for us greedy kids to eat. She always had a plate on honey on the comb on her kitchen table.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Nagi ~ my granny was the one who taught me how to make sugar donuts

I never was interested in cooking or even wanting to learn. When we went to granny's, I headed straight for the barn to hang out with the animals. I used to sneak them food and talk to them, mostly having pity on them. My earliest memories of this was at age 3.

I would think that is a normal reaction for a kid.

the sammies are pork meatballs. the meatballs have sambal, garlic, green onion, salt pepper. the carrot stuff is carrot, green onion, sesame seeds, sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar.

I would think that is a normal reaction for a kid.

I was always interested in cooking. Some of my earliest memories involve me helping gma cook.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

For some reason that made me laugh.

Ladies and Natty, if you'll excuse me, I must beg your indulgence again. I am feeling unwell, no emesis, but I am more than a tad dizzy. I will rest for a period and return later this evening. I thank you for your cooperation in advance.
