john: Salvia tea. that's what I use when I have a sore throat. Take dried salvia leafs, prepare them like tea, let cool down until drinkable temperature, then drink it slowly and gargle.

do it at least 3 times a day.

eat lemons, including the rhine. you can also try hot water, lemon, and honey. oh, and my personal fave, a gallon of orange juice. i usually will drink a new gallon in 2 days by myself.
