Hey y'all! New to this site but Im so loving it. Just had a few questions hoping someone might know more about the answers than I do.

#1 Just got NOA#1 for I-129F and am planning to go to Kenya to be with my fiance for the next three months. Any reason I shouldn't be out of the country during the waiting time? I've finished my part of the process right?

#2 While in Kenya, and waiting for approval, we will be getting all of his documents together. I've seen in other folks posts that proof of no criminal record is required from all countries that he's ever lived in since 16. He has lived in several different countries and just wondering what we need to do to prove he has a clean record in each country he has lived in. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Good luck to all!

All countries he has lived in for more than 6 mos. and or 1 yr. Check if your consulate say 6 mos or 1 year

when you know what countries are required then look here:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3272.html

find the country on the pull down menu and read about police reports

YMMV

Oh! Thank you! Is this something that is definitely necessary with the K-1? My lawyer says that it isn't.

yes it is needed, my wife traveled to another country to get a PC for time spent there. Without it, NO visa. Check your consulate requirements first to get an understanding of what they expect ....

maybe you need a new lawyer? :)

The safest thing to do is to submit everything (and make sure its translated!)

Yes, it can be painful but having everything makes the process run smoothly.

BTW, take lots of pics in different locations together! ;)

As for the lawyer, you may want to check on what other info they're giving you also to make sure that

you have the right lawyer. Especially if you plan to be out of the country. ( not that much usually happens for the first few months)
