Hey everyone! First of all congrats to all who have gotten their NOA2s recently. I'm happy for all of you and I hope to be right behind you myself.

I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here. But for those who have beneficiaries in the Philippines, what was your typical process between the time your fiance(e) sent in the forms from packet 3 and when they were scheduled their interview?

Also, let's say the fiance(e) is located somewhere else in the country other than Manila and has to fly into Manila for her interview, where can he/she do the medical exam and how long would it take usually between the med exam and the interview?

Any other helpful tidbits would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ya'll!

There is no Packet 3 for Manila. The US Embassy here will send Packet 4 to the beneficiary. The Packet 4 contains an appointment letter which would indicate the date and time of the interview as well the the scheduled date for the medical exams at St. Luke's. The medical exam indicated in the appointment letter is usually one week before the interview but your fiance can take it early if she wants. She will just have to bring a copy of the appointment letter with her to St. Luke's. You don't have to make an appointment with St. Luke's. It is on a first come, first serve basis. Hope this helps.

Hey,

I am also waiting on Manila, but it looks like all the timelines are taking about 4 months from the time that Manila gets the package until the interview and visa is issued. The Manila Embassy is the slowest embassy in the world!, Oh lucky us!

The Medical is done at St Lukes there in Manila about 1 week before the interview, there is a hotle that is cheap accross the street.

I see...okay thanks!!!! given that...since we don't have a packet 3, what do we do in place of that? specifically, what do the USCs have to do after NOA2 and our petition gets to the Embassy? Just trying to get a feel for the process ahead hehe

Once you get your NOA2, your petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center in New Hampshire. Then you as the petitioner will receive another letter by snail mail from NVC when your petition will be forwarded to Manila. In our case it took almost a month for this to happen. Then you can then call the US Embassy Manila at 1-909-101-7878 (from the Philippines using a PLDT phone) or 1-888-877-9888 (from the US) to check if your petition has already be received in Manila. These call centers will inform you the date your petition was received in Manila, and when they will be mailing your Packet 4. You can see my timeline below so you can gauge when this will happen in your case.

Ragiwin,

Below is a link to the Manila Embassy website. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can see the link for K1, K3, and IR packets. The packet contains instructions on documents that your fiancee will need to prepare for the interview.

//usembassy.state.gov/posts/rp1/wwwh3227.html

For the USC, take note of "Evidence of Support". Listed there are the documents that you need to send your fiance like the notarized I-134 Affidavit of Support, latest W2 and income tax return, bank statements, employment certificate, etc.

You may want to join us at the "Foreign Embassy" forum under "Manila Interview & Discussion" thread. There are lots of info there.

Good luck!

I wouldn't complain to much, i don't think 4 months is the slowest but you should be thankful you didn't do it the end of last year. 6 months wait then, and more AR's.
