Do 102 VJ members really have a Jan. 1 birthday... and are so many centenarians, si man? Or, is this some kind of default for those who enter nothing in those sign-up fields, si man? (I am only a quinquagenarian and need to decide whether I should be jealous, si man.)

vj has more members than that i believe

3,137 pages of members with 20 members a page - 62,740 members - although that also includes a lot of early inactive memberships that have never been closed. A lot of birthdays on every day of the year, so it seems.

Sorry, folks, but I'm not yet persuaded, no man. The daily numbers of birthdays SINCE January 1 have ranged from the lower 20s to the mid-30s, and I believe that the numbers for January 1 are artificially inflated somehow. Is it a "default date" for people who never entered a birthdate? Other? Inquiring minds want to know, si man.

Si, man: On January 1, 102 people claimed a birthday; otherwise in January so far, anywhere from 22 to 38 people have claimed a birthday on any particular day. Therefore, the Jan. 1 figure is out of whack on the high side. Perhaps it's for the reason that LaL suggested (and it could explain why so many "centenarians" also appeared on that day), but perhaps it's not THE reason. Why would so many people arbitrarily pick "January 1" if there are 364 other choices? If there's a profile option to not enter a birthdate, does Jan. 1 become a "default" date? If this last isn't the reason, then what is?
