Compared to previous years I did really well in 2009. It was hands down my most successful year:

I bought a dirt cheap house for a little less than $11,000 cash.

I graduated from college with a dual BA w/ a 3.6gpa.

I got married.

I started a Master's program in International Trade and Economic Development ended up switching programs to Language and International Trade which is less of a focus on bore-inomics>>>economics.

I learned how to read and annotate stock charts. This was a chart I did on 10/30/09 of the S&P500 during the year 2003.

^^^^It successfully predicted that the markets would rally the last two months of this year (NOV/DEC 2009) and end at or very near to a YTD high on 12/30/09.

I created my website

My worst screw ups of 2009 had to do with stocks. On every single trade you can always "look back" and say, if I bought/sold sooner or bought/sold later I would have made X amount instead of +/- ______ dollars. I made at least 100 trades so I have countless stories of woulda/coulda/shoulda trades. My dumbest move was buying call options on Citigroup the day before they reported earnings. They expired 2 days later worthless: Bye bye $5,500 overnight >>>>>>

Went back to smoking after quitting for nearly 2 years.

Earned a few thousand shy of 6 figures between me and my husband and have nothing to show for it. I really need to stop spending money.

Plans for 2010:

Buy a house

Quit smoking

Diet

everyone here is trying to push us into buying a house...

I do not want to buy a house any time soon.. too much of a headache.. I am quite content with renting..

and in order to afford a house here you have to buy one way out in the boonies...

exactly..unless you buy a POS which is affordable closer in....

my wife wants to own in the boonies though.. she has come a long way since she moved here 5 years ago.. back then she wanted to go deeper into the belly of the beast (the city)... now she wants to live in the boonies.
