You will get a letter from the USCIS containing an I-797C Notice of Action. It says Notice Type: Welcome Notice. It also says that we should be receiving further correspondence from them in 30 days.

In that 30 day time you will get your GC

i was waiting of my green card too... i was here in the us feb 1.. husband and i wondering how long it takes since my port of entry said that takes 2-3 weeks but im one month now..green card still nothing.. can we follow up the us embassy about it?

RETURNED WRONG GREEN CARD - FEB. 17, 2010

RECEIVED EMAIL CONFIRMATION - FEB. 19, 2010

RECEIVED SSN card -FEB. 19, 2010 -guess what? typo again!!!! even if we went to SSN office to tell them that it green card had a typo already!!!!!

I am still waiting for my Green Card. It was supposed to be delivered on the 3rd week of January. Come February and still no GC, so I called the USCIS toll free number. The representative told me to submit Form I-90 to a particular USCIS center.

It does not hurt to call the USCIS to inquire the status of your Green Card. In case the customer service tells you the same thing she told me, check this article to give you a guide for submitting another I-90: How to Follow-Up the USCIS When Green Card Is Not Received.

Tip when calling the toll free number:

Press the extension number for "change of address." So far, it's the only extension number that connected me to a live person. Get your case/receipt number and alien number ready.
