Wow 2000 I was celebrating with my family while my then boyfriend went to Poland to celebrate with his, in the travel he met a girl and fell in love, then I thought it was the worst thing that could happen to me. 2000 was a confusing year for me lol. At the end of 2000 I met my now husband, changed my life totally, moved to US, now I go home and I am a visitor in my mother's house.

2010 I am with my husband playing WOW and we will have cereal for diner. I love it !!

10 yrs ago I was 17 about to turn 18, got my license, finished school and started working at Walmart. Going on 10yrs with the company, been a manager almost 9 of those years.

That night for "Y2K" I remember I beat my brother in a game of basketball at my grandparents house and it was a big deal bcz he was an excellent basketball player.

Within a year or two of 2000 I left home and lived on my own for 8yrs, thought I was in love with a childhood friend for like forever and realized that would never work for us, then after giving up and moving on, Adam came along. 2006 Had a serious blood clot, found out I have a genetic blood disorder and PCOS. Went to Egypt during the Israel/Lebanon war (all my brothers and brother in law told me I was nuts)

Married Adam -2006

Adam home -2008

Moved to Texas 2009

and hoping for the best for Adam and I in 2010!

Ten years ago, seemed to be working more on Y2K problems than actual engineering, this was a lost argument in engineering versus marketing when they insisted on using a two digit date to save a couple of cents. Yeah, still have to deal with marketing, Y2K cost companies a small fortune, but we still have plenty of a$$holes today for lack of a better word.

In 2000, was working three jobs, during the day, at night, and on weekends, finally starting seeing the light at the end of the tunnel to become debt free from my divorce. Did some dating, but no rush this time, in 2002 met this woman on the net, we both had ex's that didn't work and could spend money faster than we could earn it, and both of us were dedicated to our children. She had a 12 year old daughter, was another I narrowed my sights on that had a 12 year old son, the latter was of more interest to me since raising a daughter can be hell, been there, done that. But something very special about that woman with the daughter that you can't put your finger on, we became very dependent on each other, finally met in 2003 and got married in late 2004. But with the USCIS very strongly in our lives, we got through that as well. The daughter is a 20 year old woman now, and very responsible and hard working. We have been and very happy living together as a family. It's incredible how quick these last ten years have gone by.

10 years ago I was approaching 36. I remember as a kid figuring out how old I would be at the turn of the century and feeling depressed because I thought I'd be too old to enjoy it. I enjoyed it in Greece where I was living. I moved to China before the year was out.

In this past decade I

-Watched 9/11 with horror in the apartment where all the American staff had gathered after the first plane crashed into the first tower, and felt my view of the world completely change.

-Met my husband.

-Worried through the SARS epidemic that I'd be quarantined in my apartment building and trapped in China through the summer holidays.

-Got married in Thailand.

-Had a baby and got my masters in the same month.

-Went to bed the night of Katrina thinking my city had been spared only to wake up to learn that the levees had broken.

-Got word that all my family had made it out and that what I saw on the only news channel available was not reality but that reality was much worse.

-Finally, moved home.

I'm looking forward to spending this next decade and the next with my husband, watching our daughter grow. Hopefully in the decade after that or the following one, we'll still be around to meet our grandkids.

I rang in 2000 with a new (18 days after issue) Green Card, and placed myself on marriageable list (due to my having a TN-1, and inadequacy of training of INS and Consular officials on such matters when dealing with spouse of non-NAFTA country citizenship, marriage prior to this would have been a high-risk endeavour). Between then and now, I

  • moved from Metro-Atlanta to overextended (including Baltimore) metro-DC area
  • got "unofficially" engaged (basically pledged to marry without yet meeting in-person, only phone/snail-mail contact)
  • naturalised to USC
  • filed K-1 for my then fiancee
  • got married
  • guided my wife through naturalisation process (we're still waiting for her swear-in)
