I was on the same exact timeline as Grismar. We went to the same service center. The only difference was where our men are living. Hers in South America and mine in India.

So why am I still waiting while she was approved 1 week ago?

Just sitting here feeling sorry for myself. I feel the boat left the dock and I'm not on it. :crying:

Try and find a little more patience.

One of the curses of this board is people assuming their situations are the same as others because of the same timelines and same areas. Every case is it's own case, and you've got to remember that.

That being said, I expect you'd hear at least something soon. :)

Pray for a little more patience. All cases are different and each country is different so try not to compare your timeline to others and hopefully you will be rewarded soon.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

cfosterart,

I suspect there are more differences between the two men than where they are living. One comes immediately to mind - they have different names, I'm sure. And that's probably just the beginning.

Another possible difference is that different case officers are working on the petitions.

Well, our case may be completely different, or I just got lucky, or who knows. I know it's hard not to do, but you shouldn't compare your timeline to others, or you might go insane! Hang in there, it'll come!

Be patient.

You have been waiting only one month...compared to 3,4,5 months for some folks.

You'll be ok...in fact, you may actually get a lucky break here as there doesnt seem to be much fairness applied to earlier cases.

Regardless, stay positive and be sure to give lots of encouragement to those who are in very difficult situations. Trust me, they want it, and need it!

I know some people have waited longer. I just figured that somehow my file was just under hers. LOL Maybe they were stuck together and now mine is living vicariously thru grismar. LMAO

I know....I'm being patient. I only check the website about 6-10 times a day looking for at least a touch. Maybe I have to get back to that book I started....or maybe I need to get a second job to keep me occupied.

Does anyone else feel like their life is in limbo while this process unfolds?

Oh, yes, I've become obsessed with checking status online and I do talk A LOT about the process to the point my fiance complained about it. So... I guess we do have to keep ourselves busy with other stuff in our lives so we don't go crazy.

Eventually, we will all get our approvals. Let's just wait. :)

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

This same thing happened to me as well, I had the same timeline as someone else when I first applied, well, you can't judge it by that, because, I just got my NOA2 this month and forwarded to NVC and the other person has already had their interview and gotten their visa. It is based on many different factors, comparing timelines with others is going to make you crazy, I found that out really quick. The best thing to do is just focus on your own case, keep up with the processing dates, and do whatever you have to to make sure it isn't being overlooked, when the time comes for that. ie. email, call service center, congressman.

I am wishing you the best of luck and a speedy process.

~Stacey
