I am really disappointed. I see that my case was moved to the California service center for further processing because they have jurisdiction over my address but I live in New Jersey! California processing times were much longer than Vermont. Is this a mistake?

Texas has been sending them to California for some time now. Do not worry and good luck on your journey.

Just keep in mind that the I-130 being transferred to another service will not affect the processing of the I-129F which is the petition when approved enabling you to apply for the K-3 visa. Whilst the I-130 is necessary to be be filed before filing the I-129F, the I-130 only needs to be approved in order for one to adjust status to permanent residence once one has entered the US on a K-3. The processing time of an I-130 is only of any real importance in the visa process if one is wishing to apply for a CR-1 immigrant visa. So unless you are wanting to apply for a CR-1 I wouldnt be stressing at all that the petition has been transferred. Besides, from past experiences this is not always a bad thing and from what I have seen in a few posts already, transferred cases from VSC are starting to see their approvals already for the I-130.
