On the contrary, my fine footed friend. All too often when a celebrity decides to speak up politically and says something Right Wingers don't want to hear, they are pounced on, ridiculed and told to shut the hell up.

Just notice how some of the Right Wingers here think of Nugent as a patriot first and not a celebrity. Sean Penn on the other hand is called a communist for speaking his mind.

Ted has never been drunk or did drugs, and is passionate in his preaching against such evils, which is one of the reasons that he believes in hunting...this is well documented...and he runs a camp for kids on his own property to keep kids of drugs and teach them instead about hunting... He's an example of how celebrity status and having a public platform to air his views does not mean he has anything worth listening to.

Unfortunately a lot of people identify with simplistic ideas - "telling it like it is" often means "that's all I'm capable of understanding".
