For Tea Gear - I like this site:

http://www.artoftea.com/catalog/matcha-whisk-p-106.html

But Mostly, I use a 2 Liter acrylic carafe with loose tea, and then strain it as I pour it into an 2 litre airpot.

If you have indian / pakistani shops in yer area, I highly recommend getting an 'assam'.

I stopped buying 'english teas' once I learned about chinese teas, then stopped buying chinese teas when I learned about indian and pakistani teas.

What kinda gear ya want, anyway?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Do you have a World Market store near you? They have some nice tea pots (I have a plain old brit one, but i do like the japanese ones). They also sell lots of different teas, including yorkshire and dear old PG Tips. Trader Joes has some nice teas too.

Funnily enough, since moving to the states I've become rather fond of green teas. Which is not nearly as funny as my American other half who first professed to liking no hot drinks whatsoever, but now loves a pot of tea, and usually goes for the classing black tea with milk. Love it.

All that said, tea does taste different at home in the UK. I think it's the water.

OK - Caught Graham Norton on the dvr - google 'tea pot blowing' - Now I'm gonna look at the resale shops, make a collection, and use in some non-profit fundraiser event.

Whole Foods sells my Yorkshire tea! I saw it on Saturday. Terribly expensive, though. I just bring it back from my visits or when my sister comes over. lol

assam is the name of a type of tea pot. and no - you don't need to google graham norton - just 'tea pot blowing' - is nothing sexual about it ;)

I could be wrong about the name of the pot, it might be a brand. found it in north indian / pakistani shops here in Houston.

Oh thanks, Britbird. That reminds me. I saw some lovely silk-packet teas in Harris Teeter. I wanted to buy them just because of the silk!

I know! I sent some to my mum and she thought they looked too pretty to make into tea...silly thing. They make a lovely cup of tea though, and you can get a couple of pots out of them.

Oh! I forgot to mention.....

I was watching America's Test Kitchen on Saturday and they were testing teapots with infusers. (That was timely.) Their favourite was IngenuiTEA. I was pretty impressed with how it dispensed the tea. I'm going to look into one of those.

I am a tea wh0re, I hope, by now, you have figured that out, ah?

I had loved to make black tea with a singapore sock, in singapore , then carried back a years supply o socks and black tea when i moved back to usa. (lipton yellow label from penang/georgetown not sold in usa, anywhere )

But it's been a while, ya? so I'm lucky, I think so, to find the indian and pakistani shops, much - is similar to black tea
