Police Certificate

So I received my police certificate in the mail today from the Edmonton Police Service. It basically says on it that a search was conducted based on my name and birthdate and that it did not disclose any record of conviction. It states that the CPIC, Edmonton Police Service local records and the Justice OnLine Information Network Alberta court records were checked ... but then there is a note that appears to be stamped on which states:

"Please note: The EPS Police Information check unit recommends a local police information check be conducted where this applicant previously resided."

I guess a bit more info would be helpful. Prior to living in Edmonton, I lived in rural Alberta for a 18 months ... the town I lived in did not have its own police department, only the RCMP. Prior to that, I was traveling abroad. I am thinking they put this note on there because I spent approx. 10 months abroad (traveling in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia). I did have an address in Australia which I put on my police certificate application ... is this what they're referring to or are they saying I need to get another certificate from the RCMP?

Also ... I'm starting to second guess myself, but I was under the impression I do not require a police certificate from Australia, as per: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html (near the bottom):

If the applicant ...

lived in a different country for more than 12 months

was 16 years or older at that time

the police authorities of that locality.

Some confirmation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance everyone :)

You're right about the Australian one.

On your RCMP cert, before it has the EPS note, does it say anything else, or is that just a stand alone statement?

I guess I worded that badly ... I only have the EPS certificate (I was under the impression I only needed one certificate, and as long as it searched CPIC, I would be fine ... is this untrue?). Here is a scanned copy of the one I have from EPS ... you can see the stamp pretty well.
