My husband and I are thinking that we should book an infopass appointment and see if we can get it for the same day as our biometrics appointment. Its a four hour drive away. Our RFE asked for the completed medical and vaccination. When we sent in the I-693 we only included the DS-3025 which didn't fly with them obviously. So yesterday I sent back the RFE with the civil surgeon trans. vacc. Today I called the 1-800 number, the lady was very nice, although all she could see on her computer was what I seen. My case has not been updated since the NOA1. She said some adjudicators don't update, and its up to their discretion if they want to do that or not. So I told her about the RFE and my medical in Montreal. She advised to send a letter along stating K-1 not requiring a second medical, just the vacc. portion of the I-693. So I did that. But I have been reading all afternoon and I come across two things I think that could be the problem. My medical had a chest x-ray for TB, no skin test. It says that skin test is required now and just a chest-x-ray will be denied. But yet when you read about the skin test, a non-favourable reading will require the chest x-ray. Then, the doctor who transcribed my vacc. said the hepatitis A was recommended, but on the website it says in the revised vacc. that Hep A is required. He marked it as age inappropriate. When I look at the recommended, I don't fall into any of those catagories. So what do you guys think we should be, book an info pass appointment and talk to them on January 8th, (hopefully if we can get it) or, just swallow the $$ and get another medical done, and have the hep A and tb skin test done? I really hate to do that as money is becoming more scare everyday but I also don't want to prolong this any further. What are your thoughts?

Your biometrics place is 4 hrs away? That's terrible! I wasn't pleased that mine was 30 minutes away.

As far as the RFE, perhaps retaking the medical, for the reasons you state, is the best move to avoid prolonging the case. Are you finding any inexpensive CS's in your area? We found one that will do the full medical for $125, and she's around the corner from my job.

What is the return timeframe for the RFE? We still haven't received the hard copy to know exactly what it's for, but I'm considering the full medical, too, due to the changes in vaccination requirements.

Our RFE said, full medical and vaccination, but the lady at the 1-800 number told me they are generic form letters. Cheapest so far for a full medical has been $450. one place was $1000. They have 87 days for the response time on ours, but we sent the I-693 vacc signed right back. I just think we are going to get another one because of the TB skin test, but I am not sure. We just can delay this any longer. Good luck with your process.
