In preventing incidents, where is the money best spend? Up front with very inconvenient procedures to try to catch one in a million people, or with intelligence and law enforcement? No doubt the screening costs billions every year in direct costs and lost productivity as indirect costs.

You can still beat any system if you really want to. If you know what the security people are looking for, then don't be that.

With infinite resources, perhaps. However, if you're a terrorist and you get caught

trying to "beat the system", you won't get another chance for a very long time.
