We are feeling very good about the interview. We have been very organized and prepared throughout this whole process. There is just one thing that is making me so worried. When ouadia bought me my engagement ring, he bought the wedding band to go with it, which I figure is normal. But, we took a picture at his aunt's house, with me with both rings on, and he already wears a band since he likes to wear one because he isn't single. So there is a picture of us showing our rings on. I feel this is going to cause a huge problem. We can only explain the truth, which is what he is gonna do of course, but will this hurt our chances no matter what? Just wanted some advice. Thank you in advance.

Me and my fiance wear wedding bands also, even though not married. One of the papers we had to submit at the embassy was a certificate of singlehood. Did he get that? Also, if it comes up, just explain the matter and should be ok.

As long as he is prepared to answer any questions about it I don't think you should have an issue. But I would still have him leave his ring home that day. No reason to wear it one day if it is going to cause you stress.

Just thinking... what 'if' they did happen to take note of the rings in the picture, and have the intent to ask about it, and he comes to the interview 'not' wearing the ring. You think that could cause suspicion? Just a thought...

I was thinking the same thing, so he's just gonna wear it....no big deal it seems...Thanks again to everyone!

Yes he did get that paper, so you have a point there...

I know of someone that referred to his fiance as his "wife" at the POE. They sent him back to his country. It is totally up to you what you do, but realize that the DOS won't mess around if they suspect that you are already married and trying to come over on a quicker visa. KarimaG is new to this process, and hasn't had the years on Visa Journey that others have had.

As for the infamous paper. My husband had one as well before our marriage. No one took it away after our marriage. We did the CR1 so of course we didn't use it, but how easy would it have been? I am sure the consulate knows that as well.

No diputing that Im new... And I hope to God that he would not refer to me as his wife in any point verbally, interview or going through POE. That would be the biggest cluster mess ever!!

It was just a thought that if they DID see the picture of the rings, and decided to question him about it, and he comes to the interview NOT wearing the rings... then it could cause them to have further suspicion than they intially had. But its up to anyone what they want to do. They will easily see during the interview when he provides them the certificate of singlehood. And the real and easy explanation is better than trying to conceal it. There only being worn as engaement rings. To try to conceal something sometimes creats a bigger mess and more stress rather than just coming out with it on one sentence... "Hey! Were engaged, just simple engaement rings!"

But, thats just a thought, not meant to be fact, or advice that I expect anyone to take, or that I expect to be 100% accurate. Everyone has minds to make up there own decisions. Just a thought is all, and just thought I would chime in with it.
