I did try and search the site for this answer before I posted here, so please excuse me if you think this is a silly question or an obvious answer but...

What happens at the biometric appointment? I know from the letter I need to take the notice and my ID with me etc, and I thought it would just be for finger prints and photographs, but the letter said that if I had a cast or an open wound they may reschedule... Which I thought random if it was just finger prints etc. Will they do some kind of medical or check me over again?

You could have a cast on a finger(s). or just a cut finger - that's what they're referring to.

The appointment is for fingerprints (all 10) and a couple of photos.

No, you'll simply just sit and wait to be called and they'll get your fingerprinting done electronically and you'll also take a picture. The observation about open wound on cast was for your fingers. If you're in a cast that can't be removed to expose your fingers or if they're cut or hurt somehow, the prints won't be accurate so they'll check your hands to make sure you're ok to be printed or else they need to reschedule for when your fingers are in perfect condition.

Awesome, I figured as much, but the way they worded it was a little, well bureaucratic, thus could have meant anything haha
