is it normal for end of year slowdowns with all the holidays happening??

thanks all and good luck to all in 10 with quick visa and we all beat the price increases that may be coming at us

Yes and no. The VSC is in Northern Vermont, right acrosss the lake from my house. The parking lot has been pretty empty lately. They are NOT closed. It is a vacation time of year and people in northern Vermont like to take vacations at this time for skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing etc. With 6" of fresh snow today and more expected overnight, the roads will be empty tomorrow and the slopes will be packed. The more than 600 miles of groomed trails in Franklin County will be crowded with snowmobiles and there will be more snowmobiles at the gas stations than cars for the rest of the week. As in ANY business where people get vacation time off, they often combine vacation with holidays and when you have two holidays falling on two Fridays in a row...forget about any semblence of normal work getting done. Sometime next week people ought to get back to normal. And don't forget this is big time deer hunting area and our deer season started at the time of Thanksgiving. I am in construction and trying to get anything done or scheduled in Vermont during November and December is next to impossible. I usually give up and take time off myself. The lights are on but no one is home. Other than that there is no seasonal rush or "slowdown" per se.

In addition, the VSC had an all out effort on I-129fs at the end of September to get caught up from a year of remodeling, (see the pinned topic at the top of the forum with my discussion with the Directopr of the VSC) moving about 100 people to another facility etc. They have now moved on to other visas (still doing I-129fs, but not in the concentration they were) and should be back to a more "normal" time frame, which before their problems was running 3-4 months.

I'm kicking myself for not filing at the end of August.....but.... I think we're all still going to be fine within the expected timeframe (5 months +/- 1).

Here's to hope! Because it's the worst torture to be apart from your other half.

Well we just got I129f approved yesterday, so its defiantly still possible for them to get things done even now.

The big push at VSC to catch up on I-129fs started Sept. 27. Your timeline indicates you filed just after that time. Mostly they wanted to catch up on pending cases.

Before VSC had some problems, which began about November 2008, they were the faster of the service centers usually anyway.
