Hey,

I and my wife did go to registry in 2001 and we did our traditional wedding in 2006 after we might have two children together and i had visited her 4 times.How do you think she can explain this to consular bcos on the traditional wedding photos there is a date on it that we did it

The Consular officers in Nigeria are very knowledgeable about the Nigerian local customs. I don't see the fact that you had your traditional wedding long after your court wedding as a problem. In fact, it's probably a plus because they know that if you are both of Nigerian descent, that the traditional marriage is what counts. When it is done is not an issue, it's the fact that it's done. For all they know, you probably couldn't afford it in 2001 and then you came to do the right thing in 2006 which is admirable. I see no problems at all. No need to worry or go into any long explanations. The fact is that you've done the registry, traditional and have 2 children together. You will be required to meet the same standards as everyone else with regards to evidence of a bonafide marriage i.e photos chats, phone records and pics.
