Well it certainly wasn't the same as being back home in Nova Scotia, but it wasn't all bad. We had a family holiday dinner that there was 32 people at. I don't think we ever had a family dinner that large back home. It was really nice. Different foods then what I am use to. I thought it was odd that my honey wanted ham for Christmas dinner, it's been turkey for me for 40 years! My mom always cooked a ham as well, but the big item was always the turkey with all the trimmings. I wonder if its because the US celebrates their thanksgiving in November and have a turkey then. Back in Canada we have ours in October. Its not so close for two large turkey dinners. All my decorations are all back in Nova Scotia in storage, but I managed to make a few for the tree. I did and do miss my family and friends alot, but I know it will get easier with time. Thankfully we are hoping to go home in January as soon as I get my AP. So my first Christmas with my husband....it was wonderful in its own special way!
