hey all... how's the holidays going? I am having a blast... been hanging out with family and stepdaughter and stuff and it's been awesome.

We've been looking at flights for my husband for our interview in January and though I lived there for 12 years I cannot, for the life of me, figure out the answer to this question...

Do they no longer offer direct flights to MOntreal from Baltimore any more? He flew there one time a few years ago to meet me and we were sure he flew direct. i'm also pretty sure they had some direct flight even a few months ago. but the past few weeks, all we see are flights that transfer in Toronto?

Any one fly AC lately from the US to montreal? Was it direct?

lemme know, okay?

Hope you're all having fun -- haven't been around much but i'll make up for that when I'm back to work!

I checked the route map and it does not seem that Balitmore is offered direct to Montreal. I recall seeing direct from JFK, but that's probably not much help.

Sure doesn't look like it. I looked for BWI to either airport in Montreal and only came up with flights that connected somewhere.

What about doing BWI to Buffalo (which I hear is cheap on Southwest - $138-ish+ one way) and then connect from Buffalo to Montreal? That wouldn't be too bad

I can't check as Im at work, but don't forget DCA and IAD. I know when my wife flew from DC to halifax, quite often she connected thru Mtl from DCA.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I've flown Atlanta - Montreal a few times (as a connection to Toronto) and the flight to Montreal was direct.

Is there a neighbouring city that your spouse can drive to in order to get a direct flight to Montreal?

Also, connection flights are often cheaper than direct.

It looks like Washington DC and Newark, NJ are the only airports in that area that have direct flights to Montreal. :( I'm sure at one time there may have been a direct from Baltimore, but with cutbacks, et al, they probably stopped those flights. Sorry lgg. Good luck to you!

thanks for your responses!

We just got the ticket for him today -- and yeah, BWI does NOT offer a direct flight anymore -- oh well.

Wanted to let you know, that Air Canada is having a seat sale -- we got his flight for 400$ which isn't so bad...

AS for the hotel, I think we're going to stay at Le Square Phillipes as it sounds nice-ish. any one stay there?

If so... what did you think?

Hope everyone's holiday is going well! It's been busy -- we went to my husband's sister's and her husband's last night and played hearts until 3am!

it was AWESOME but i am a little tired today. Have stepdaughter in a bit but wanted to thank you all for responding and hoe that all my vj friends are having a great holiday!

Oh geez... yeah... that does suck, eh? I am taking the train myself -- my ticket cost 150$ and I plan to read and nap on the 4 hour ride. Hope the weather isn't too crappy -- probably will be but whatever...

Yea, I'll be flying direct from Vancouver to Montreal, I dont think that helps, but check the aircanada.com website for routing...sorry me no help =(

I suppose it is now, isn't it? It's actually VERY exciting-- he just picked out and bought his plane ticket today!

I bought my train ticket a couple of days ago and i'm going to book the hotel probably in the next day or two.

Yeah, it is exciting!
