Does any one have any idea whether or not the Texas Service Center is actively working on K-1 Visa. Are they the slowest Service Center? I think I have figured out that Vermont is the fastest. Can everyone who has filed with the Texas Service Center in 2006 share their time line with me.

Thanks

I know I can read everyone's time line but i want to narrow it to Texas Service Center 2006. I am obviously not patient and I am on vacation now so I have nothing to do. I can't wait until this summer vacation is over and I can return to work. I am a Teacher and working helps the time go bye faster. :clock:

All service centers but Vermont and California have stopped processing requests. However, you still must SEND your petition to the specific center allotted for your state and it will be transferred and you will be notified of the transfer. Sure you can look at the time lines for Texas (up top: Processing Times), but it won't mean much since it'll in all likelyhood be headed to California where we are just FINALLY starting to see some approvals.

On a side note, until you get your NOA1 there isn't much you can know about the status of your application. It might be in the process of being transferred or it might already be at CSC and they haven't had a chance to send the NOA1 yet. NOA1s from CSC are taking upwards of 30 days to get. So be patient and go play some online games. :P

Mrs. Frmnt- I have to say that if your impatient you shouldn't be doing this. I'm 123 days into the process and still at least 3 months away from my fiance making here to America. I wish you luck and this process will test your patience for sure.

16/10/2006- Interview date- I'm nervous and my fiance is cool calm and collective. And she's the one that has to do the interview.

Oh, i'm very impatient and anxious but i definitely MUST do this lol, i'd do anything to be with the man that i love, i know we're just at the starting point from the journey, and i know that if we're lucky we will be getting married around this month next year, but hey, i'm certain it will all be worth it. I also know that many people in this forum get impatient as well, but it's just a normal feeling, with God's help, everything will be ok. I'm trying to focus on thinking that's one year of waiting vs. a lifetime together....

Thanks for your concern and best of luck to the two of you, i hope those 3 months you have left to wait become way less than that :)

I don't think anyone REALLY knows the answer to this question. But the assumption is that they are going to just change around what service centers are going to process what kinds of petitions. Instead of all service centers processing all visas. Only Vermont and California will process K1 visa. And then the other Service Centers will process other types of visas.

But that's just a theory. :)

If you go to the Immigration Timelines section of this website you can search for every possible peice of data on everyone's timelines.

I use it all the time to compare other people slightly before or same time as me to see if they have any status changes in their timelines.

This actually is not a new thing -- petitions from Texas have been transferred to California for at least a year now? Something like that. Texas has been notorious for their slowdowns for years -- with the exception of about a 6-12 month burst of activity about 2 years ago (right about the time we sent in our K-1 petition). The last time Texas slowed down, California began taking on the case load to free up the backlog.....and they are still doing it to this day.

To the OP -- concentrate on preparing for the future and try not to obsess too much about the visa process -- you'll turn yourself into knots!
