See this is what worries me about you folks, you want to turn a free society into your "ideal" society, in this instance by telling people what they can drive.

Where have I said that I would want to tell people what they can drive? You can drive any god damn thing you want as far as I am concerned. But we're still making the purchase of the largest light trucks and the largest SUV's more attractive via the tax code today - at a cost of billions of dollars. That's what I have an issue with - the government offering tax incentives tp steer people into the most gaz guzzling vehicles to be had rather than doing the opposite which would be the sensible approach.

For all I know, the government staying out of it altogether would be better than what it is doing today. Today, the government is telling people to drive as big a car as they can get their hands on - they'll reward it with hefty tax breaks.
