So been searching for a while now and can't quite get my head around it so please answer and will be thankful for you doing so.

What does the co-sponsor need to supply along with the I-134 form?

* Tax returns, preferably last 3 years to be safe

* Last few pay stubs

* Bank letter (can i please have a heads up on what he needs for this, like what does it need to include on the letter? Are last 12 statements acceptable?)

He is self-employed and a family of 6, sponsoring me. What poverty guideline does he have to be above for this? Just me and fiancee or including his family?

Is it true he also needs copy of birth certificate to prove us citizenship? And a letter confirming his commitment to sponsoring me?

Thanks for any and all replies, they are valued :)

What is required with the I-134 is entirely up to the consulate. The requirements for a co-sponsor are usually the same as the requirements for the primary sponsor. You'll have to check with the consulate you're going through to see what they need. Some consulates want tax returns and W2's, while others (Vietnam, for example) want tax transcripts. Some want pay stubs. Some want letters of employment. Generally, bank letters aren't needed unless the sponsor/co-sponsor is self-employed, or is using assets to offset a shortage in income.

The co-sponsor's household size include HIS dependents PLUS the sponsored immigrant. It does not include the primary sponsor/petitioner, unless the primary sponsor is a dependent of the co-sponsor.

A co-sponsor generally needs to be either a US citizen or LPR, and documentation to prove their status will probably be required. In any case, the co-sponsor must reside in the US. Again, this is general advice based on the I-864 requirements, since the consulate can make up any rules they want for the I-134.
