90 days prior to 3 years of permanent residency. So in this case 90 days prior to Jan 1, 2013.

Very very true - however, you must have lived in the US during the past three years, and did not travel outside the US for more than a specified time. There is a weirdly written statement of how to know when you are eligible. I looked for it but I can't seem to find it.... anyone knows what I am talking about? Can you post it!

However, the simplest answer if you didn't travel too much and too many times is what Neonred said.
