The Walmart out here sure sells guns.

I didn't have much expectations about US, one controversial thing that caught my eyes was teenage pregnancy. I didn't realize it would be mmmm so common.

Not necessarily Charles, brazilians are indeed welcoming of diverse cultures. Of course some are interested in wallets but even penniless backpackers are well treated. Of course I am talking about your average brazilian and not pick pockets in Copacabana.

I LOVE BRAZIL !

My husband is sensible and knows that those stereotypes aren't real.

However, his silly sister thinks that I have machines that do everything for me and that I'm lazy. I even had her believing that I had a robot that cleaned my house

My SO says that all Americans are lazy.

My husband was surprised at the lack of blacks. I guess it is all a matter of your baseline

 His baseline may have been a little higher than most!

I think you can buy guns in Walmart if that store has a license to sell guns in that area.

Wal-Mart used to sell guns (because Wal-Mart used to be an American company) and products made in the U.S.A. but then they sold their souls to the  and decided to go for the dollar. When they did that, many stores stopped selling guns either due to local restrictions or fear of liablity, etc.

It'####### or miss right now. You can buy a gun at Wal-Mart, but not every Wal-Mart. Good luck finding "made in the U.S.A." though!

Yep. We all have a right to have kids we can't afford to take care of.

My SO says that all Americans are lazy.

Well he hasn't met me  Even my husband is amazed at what I accomplish with 2 kids and one more on the way. In Peru, most women don't work and stay home and take care of their kids & the house. Here, I do it all! And I was a college student up until now... And NO I don't have an iRobot  or a dishwasher. I am lucky enough to have a washer/dryer though I suppose.

I do have a wonderful husband who helps out though :) That's a plus!

Actually, foreigners are super welcomed in Brasil. I think there's more prejudice against other brazilians than against foreigners, really.

You are right though, I may have made it out to be a bigger problem than it is, but that's my foreigner's assumption of America. :P

Cleo, I must say I haven't seen guns at Puerto Rico's Walmart.

ah I see, so you are a hater :P I hope I get a chance someday to go to Brazil and experience the hospitality first hand.
