Feel helpless being so far away?

Vietnam's banking system isn't in the stone ages anymore... Deposit those funds in the bank and carry around an ATM card and withdraw cash whenever you need it.

Lien employer now Direct deposits to a bank card, which is nice. BUT she has to withdraw money everytime she needs to spend a little. Not many vendor except PLASTIC yet, and ATMS are far and few between. BUT I MUST AGREE, they are making headway in there financial institutions. She is starting to get used to having the card now. She thinks it is funny that i NEVER have CASH only plastic.

YES, but for him that was almost a months worth of Salary ; Kinda sad how low the salaries are there. I know food and many goods are very very cheap but still.......... c'mon pay a little more!!!! Especially when you look at property prices they are very disportionate to wages!!! We are going to try to BUY a house or rebuild Her Mom's house after Lien moves here, then there is the issue of finance. COMMON people do not have the ability to finance anything with a bank there. Should be interesting to find out how that process works down the road.

If that was almost a months salary he makes almost twice the average monthly salary in VN/....

When I was there, I never found any ATM shortage, they were everywhere, the only problem I had was finding one that had English on it.
