Hi everyone.

I am seriously very annoyed today. Went to check the mail and there was an envelope with a lovely yellow letter in it from the USCIS..... RFE!

Ok, so I have been dreading this as I have read everywhere about this whole I-693 business. I read on the forums that people had been getting an RFE for a I-693 when they submitted it fine. Just like I did. I had a medical in the UK in September 2009 and then had my shots done and my records collected and went to a civil surgeon and got my sealed I-693 and sent it along with my AOS documents.

Then low and behold, RFE: Submit a properly completed and signed RFE form I-693.

So I ask, what do I do now. I don't understand what I am supposed to do. I have already submitted it. I have a freaking copy of it.

Also, I got one for status of co-sponsor. Was a scan of his US passport not good enough?

Please help as I am very stressed and not at all in the Christmas spirit.

I had a similar problem. I had to go back to the civil surgeon and ask for another I-693 in a sealed envelope and send it in for the RFE. It took awhile for a response but we wee approved. I think the USCIS looses peoples paperworks. Good luck

Yes, the USCIS is notorious for losing or misplacing parts of people's files. The easiest thing to do is to go back to the Civil Surgeon and request another sealed envelope. Send another copy of your co-sponsor's proof of citizenship. The passport should be fine. It really sounds like they either lost these items or the adjudicator was lazy or careless and overlooked them.

When you send them back (make a copy of the RFE letter for your files first) along with the RFE letter, include a cover letter basically stating 'enclosed please find the re-submission of items previously submitted with the original AOS package: a) scan of co-sponsor XXXX's US passport proving US citizenship status, b ) sealed envelope from Civil Surgeon containing properly completed I-693 form re: completed vaccination schedule.

From your own copy of the I-693 form, it is properly completed, signed and dated by the Civil Surgeon? Check that first and if you find an error make sure that the Civil Surgeon corrects it in the new copy.

Send the material back through a traceable method so you can verify that it did indeed arrive back. I always make a print out of the USPS tracker showing item arrived so I have proof - just in case:-).

Good luck.

Similar situation here. We chose to just send the vaccination forms in... and few days before the biometrics appointmets got the same lovely yellow envelope.

Now I need to find out what they lost, or if we just got a reviewer who likes extra paperwork.

I am from Minnesota and I also received same I-693 RFE, there are many November filers received same RFE even they already submitted the I-693 with AOS documents. Those who just sent the DS 3025 received same letter... so it's kinda generic. If you just sent DS 3025 you will just responds for transcription. Since that you already submitted the I-693 it's kinda confusing, whether another transcription, ask your CS to have another envelope or full medical.

I already responded to my RFE and my EAD and AP are already approved a week after the USCIS received my respond, but honestly I am still worrying if my another transcription will be enough because my AOS is still pending.

Did you sign up at USCIS.gov? You can monitor your case in that site... As of now I saw they touched my AOS 2 times after they received the respond but no idea if another transcription is already enough. So I will not advice you to get another transcription by CS because the reason of my RFE might different from yours.

I got my another transcription at Mid Way Family Clinic for $70 and I think their full medical is $150. But take note, they asked me to have another shots TD and MMR with pregnancy test and the insurance paid $304.

Good luck!

Is there any evidence as to whether or not those persons receiving these recent RFE's are all female?

Not all female -- my husband received the same I-693 RFE. He had medical in the Netherlands in September 2009, then we went to a local CS in November and got a sealed I-693 and sent it with AOS)

NOA2: 07/23/2009

AOS & EAD:

Date sent: 11/23/2009

AOS & EAD NOA1: 12/01/2009

Biometrics done: 12/24/2009

Received RFE for I-693, although we included I-693 with AOS.

Replied to RFE with full medical

EAD approved: 01/22/2010

AOS Interview scheduled: 03/08/2010 Approved couple of days later

My husband also received the same RFE. I called and talked to the embassy and they assured us that the proper forms were in the sealed packet he turned in at Houston POE. So.....he's working on getting copies of all of it from the doctor in Brazzaville and mailing me the new sealed envelope....

I wonder if I can call Homeland Security at the Houston airport and see if his docs are hanging around there??

The same thing happened to my husband, applying in Minnesota as well. Ugh, we can't even get another copy because we used Dr. Arnold and he is closed now. It is so frustrating! I think we will just end up having him get the full medical because we are just sick of dealing with it. Does anyone know if the EAD and AP will continue to process despite this RFE?

This makes me wonder if they hired new contractors to process mail and somehow they haven't been clued in that K visas don't have to get a new medical. Maybe they are zipping through the forms and putting the other type visa AOS files (which would have full medicals) in the good pile, and the K visas in the reject pile because the medical exam pages aren't filled in. Maybe they don't know the A-file gets requested that will have the medical info. It doesn't seem to matter if it's I-693 done or not done, which makes me wonder if some uninformed rookie worker is messing up.

Hi, I am also from Minnesota. Dr. Arnold made my I-693 and I had my another I-693 at Mid-Way Family Clinic. The Service will process your EAD after they receive your respond. It also says it in the RFE letter. In my case a week after they resumed my case, my EAD and AP were approved.

Good luck.

Just called the USCIS and man those guys are robots.

Ok, here is my dilemma, do you think I should just go get another I-693 vaccination supplement. I have an appointment for today. Or should have a full medical? I had a full medical September this year so don't see why I need another.

What did you guys do who got the same RFE?

Thanks for any help given.

Uh-oh. My husband came in via Houston as well & we were just issued an RFE. I certainly hope it's for just the specific sections of I-693 and not for the entire form/medical.

Are you having success getting copies from your husband's home country? My husband called the place where he had his medical in Jamaica and they told him the same thing today that they said when he had it: they will not issue a copy to the patient, only to the US Embassy.

I received an RFE for the I-693, I only sent the DS-3025. I had the transcribing done and forwarded that today. My letter is kinda confusing, but I am assuming since my medical is still within the year mark then they are looking for the vacc. portion. I am going to call where I had my medical back in Canada and see if they can send me another sealed I-693.
