AoS is the route to permanent residency

You can not file until you are married, and you must file.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

AOS is adjusment of status, in your case from a K-1 visa to a conditional legal permanent resident (2 year green card). For you as a K-1 holder to obtain a green card you must have married your fiance who filed the petition for your visa within 90 days of your arrival in the US. You can then file to adjust status based upon your marriage to the original petitioner.

If you do not marry the original petitioner you must leave, if you marry after 90 days you must file for AOS differently than as a K-1, if you marry someone else you must leave.

If you married within the 90 days you can delay somewhat the filing for AOS and the overstay will be forgiven. I recommend you borrow the money and file as soon as possible.

As a k-1 visa holder this is the only route to adjust status (obtain a green card).

As the above mentioned AOS is the only route that a K-1 has of becoming a permanent resident. I looked at your timeline, you entered the US on Oct 19th with your K-1. You have to marry within 90 days of arriving or you won't be able to apply for AOS. You have (as I counted the days) til Jan 17th to get married!! Better get a move on, you can marry at the courthouse for real cheap (between 35-65 dollars) and then later have the ceromony, all USCIS cares about is that you married.
