Ok,

So I drove to Rio today to get my state police certificate and the person in the police tells me they now require the consulate to especifically write a signed, stamped, request on my name, without it I can´t get my certificate. Now, as far as I know the consulate doesn´t do that and the one that comes with packet 3 doesn´t come signed or with our names or anything.

Anyone else with this problem??? I´m really upset that I can´t get it.

This is the first I have heard of this. Did you ask them when they made the change? Maybe you could try calling the police station first and talk to someone else. If the information isn't in packet 3, someone has made a big misstake about the process. Hopefully you get this issue resolved quickly.

I was able to call the consulate. It´s a new thing with the police and they´re making a new form to go with it. For now they´ll be accepting the ones called "Certidão da Vida Privada" from the places they issue IDs. In Rio´s case, IFP (Félix Pacheco). I already got mine ordered (at least didn´t loose my trip here in Rio). Amen!

That's good that the Consulate was able to help you get this resolved. Did they say when the new forms were going to be made available?

We only have Poupa tempo in São Paulo. Also, state police certificates in São Paulo can now be obtained online. Laura was referring to the state certificate in Rio, where they have different procedures.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Yeah, the federal one I already got. I meant the state one.

The lady at the consulate didn´t say when they would have the new form.
